Every five years or so, our church updates it's directory, and we all get our pictures in it. Shortly after our last one was done, I walked into the fellowship hall and found this picture hanging on the wall. It's a picture of Jesus, with a magnifying glass hanging beside it. The sign says "Find Yourself In Christ". If you look closely, you will see that the entire picture is made up of tiny pictures of our church members, taken from the directory. What a wonderful idea to actually show Jesus in our church family! So I grabbed the magnifying glass and tried to find us. If you look through the glass, you will see that we are exactly halfway down it, second from the right. My last picture shows us in full size.
"From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being." Acts 17:26,28

this is pretty significant in reality, you know when you stop an think! I liked the way you tied those verses in (especially like them).. your page and header are really pretty-
What an intriguing idea. I never would have guessed, from that first photo, what the picture was made of. Really sets one thinking.
wow..that was great!! this is a very good idea.. though it needs a lot of effort to get it done..but can be done! great job!
What an amazing idea, you can't tell from a distance that it is a mosaic. Whoever put the picture together is very talented.
When I enlarged the photo I saw your picture.
That is a great new header shot Ginny.
A good admonition for us all and a good photo of the two of you.
What a wonderful and unique idea and this is a great photo of you and your husband.
This is a very handsome couple, and even better they are in the Lord.

I've seen so much in my long life, but this is a first! That's totally cool - as they say! What a unique idea - I just love it! What a great photo of the two of you - forever with each in HIM!!
Oh, and LOVE your changing headers! Such eye candy!
way cool! never seen this one before and a super idea. the photo of you and Phil is really good. now i am wondering how they did this collage. WOW on the fal leaves, the ones that have fallen. ha ha
And there you are! I've seen this done before but never using a church directory. That is very special!
No changing color here. I go out with my camera every day to capture fall but it still eludes me.
Best,
Bonnie
I've never seen this done before, Ginny. It is a wonderful idea. I hope all is well and you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
A fabulous post Ginny... Firstly I thought that the Jesus photo is of glass mosaic... But what an idea by the church, and the quote you gave. Well that was perfect:)
I remember seeing this when we visited your church. I thought at the time that this was a great message and a picture. I still think so.
It really brings home the fact that we are all part of the body, doesn't it?
That is such an amazing idea!!
Beth here -- we have one like that in our church....isn't it beautiful! Great pic of you and your husband....
That's a wonderful idea...I've just shared it with the minister of a local church.

very clever and fun too.
Lovely autumn leaves.
I love that composite of every one in your church. And you and your husband - cute couple!!!!!!!
It is so nice to see at times - who we are blogging with - helps to have a face - if you know what I mean.

Excellent idea and a beautiful finished work.

Hi Ginny,
You and I think alike. I don't now what the name of the flower is, but I thought the pock marks are like the chicken pock marks.
That's the most unique approach to church pictures I've ever seen. How clever of someone to place the members of church into the body of Christ that way! Love the idea.
What a beautiful portrait of our Lord made up with all your church member photos! It is amazing. This is also a lovely picture of you and your husband, Ginny.
That's a nice photo. I do NOT photograph well.
Now that is a unique and wonderful idea! Someone is very creative!! But since we Christians are the body of Christ, it's such a fitting portrayal! That's a great pic of you and your husband, too!
what a fantastic idea! Wow, someone has some mad skills! ;o)
awesome! I love this post. the title is catchy. but the wordings on the portrait is fascinating... Find yourself in Christ... means both literally and figuratively.
