Having A Sweet Fourth?

I hope you are having a sweet Fourth Of July weekend! Here are some of the holiday sweets that I found around town this week. Don't they look yummy? No, I didn't buy all of these, only the Goldfish, and those are for our granddaughter. Actually, barbequing is more popular around here than desserts, but that's for another post. What will YOU be eating this weekend? If these treats are sweet to the mouth, here is something just as sweet to the soul.

"Pleasant words are a honeycomb,
sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."
Proverbs 16:24

I made an angel food cake for the lady across the street. She had recent heart surgery, but angel food is fine for her new diet.

Goodness, those are so yummy looking treats. We are having a barbeque with lots of fresh veggies and fruits. Maybe, just maybe, some homemade ice cream.

Ginny, wishing you and your family a safe and Happy Fourth of July.

The kids just brought some ice cream from the Dairy Queen over and we sat on our balcony to watch the neighborhood fireworks! Cool finish to our beautiful evening! Not a one of your sweets is calling my name! I'd just as soon have real watermelon! Have a great week-end!

Hi Ginny. Love today's header. Happy Fourth. The town is having their celebration parade tomorrow and the Patriots have a booth up. Fun times ahead.

they do all look good. I'm not sure what we'll be eating this weekend but I do know that it will be cooked on the grill. We use the stove very little in the summer.

I'd like to be eating some of those sweets! It will only be the two of us for the 4th so we might wander around the neighborhood and hang over fences until someone invites us to eat with them. We'll see!!

Have a delicious and safe holiday.

Best,
Bonnie

My goodness! We are FREE to eat all those sweets on the 4th of July? ☻ Even tho the Queen said, "Let 'em eat cake" I wish you a Happy Independence Day!!

amen and amen on the proverb. i am wondering what the seeds are made of on the cake that looks so much like a real watermelon. raisins? real seeds? drops of black icing? before the food plan we changed to, we would be grilling burgers on the 4th and having ruffles tater chips that was always standard. who knows, we might even give in an have a burger and fries and a frosty from wendy's.

A sweet 4th indeed! I would be on a sugar high for a month! But it would be worth it :-)

Have a great 4th of July

Hi Ginny, The only sweets I'll be eating is watermelon (small servings at that). I limit my carbs so I do treat myself with fruit at times. Have a super nice Saturday!

Hi Ginny, Sorry--but sweet is out (most of the time) for me these days--unless it is sweetened with Splenda... ha

Both GE and I LOST some weight on our trip... Isn't that awesome since we ate out every single night --and breakfast... (The best thing was skipping lunch.. That helped--plus the fact watching what we ate all of the time.)

Hugs,
Betsy

Hope you're having a great weekend!

I'm guessing a real water melon would be the healthier alternative ;)
Here of course it is just an ordinary weekend. But it's strawberry season so that's what I'm feasting on!

Ummmm. . . you make me hungry! Before John David's diet was restricted, we made homemade ice cream every 4th . . . and growing up we had a family reunion on the 4th with lots of barbeque and watermelon!
Good good times!

Lol)..I can't believe your header!! Maybe I can..it looks soo tasty- all those deserts do. Barbecues are very popular here too and yet I've seen deserts too just not yet. I'm not quite sure yet what we're having? Well, wishing you the best ever-

sometimes I wonder if the sweets should be eaten.

My husband is a PhD doctor, not a medical doctor.

I splurged and bought 2 watermelons. These people were selling a bunch of homegrown (seeded) watermelons for $1 each, so I grabbed two of them. I can eat watermelon all day when it's hot like it has been.

Happy 4th of July weekend to you too!
