We Interrupt Our Daily Tree with Breaking News

I am interrupting my daily Christmas Tree posts to tell you what happened today. We were in the car when I had an awful nosebleed. Blood continued to spurt out in huge amounts all over everything and I could not stop it. Fortunately we were already in the car and near a hospital, so that is how I ended up in the E.R. Turns out I had a broken artery in my nose. Actually it is the junction where six arteries meet. It is a dangerous bleed and people have been known to bleed to death from it. This happened because my head cold had turned into a bacterial sinus infection, making my arteries too delicate. WHO KNEW, GOSH!! Anyway, I am home resting now. I lost a lot of blood and swallowed a lot of it, too. So I decided to post these pictures of a nearby hospital, Martha Jefferson. It was recently voted one of the most beautiful in the country. I took these pictures when I was visiting someone, so what do you think, is it truly that beautiful? Does it deserve the votes?

“Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making.”

Oh Poor Ginny... i felt so terrified when you described that blood was spurting out from your nose.. are you alright now? Do take things lightly, rest more at home... and hope your cold is fine now.. Yes, i didnt know that cold can affect our nose arteries too!
About the hospital, it is really beautiful and comfortable.. like a high class hotel, right?

So glad you posted this, Ginny. After reading your post on FB, I was unnerved. An yes - Who knew??? Krista works in an ENT clinic. I'm going to tell her about this tomorrow. She probably knows about this. I will have a lot more respect now for a sinus cold.

Oh, and yes, that is a beautiful hospital. Someone put a lot of care into the design.

I'm glad to hear you were close to a hospital when the bleeding started. I hope you feel better soon.
The hospital is beautiful. I thought it was a library from some of your photos.

Rest and recover well. What a frightening thing to happen but fortunate you were near a hospital.

I think Martha would be proud to have her name on that beautiful hospital.

Best,
Bonnie

Bless you Ginny....so very sorry. This would have scared me crazy. Glad you were near a medical facility and could get it taken care of. Sinus infections can be very dangerous in so many ways.
Beautiful hospital. it gets my vote.
Hope you feel better soon..

Oh my goodness, Ginny! I'm so glad you're OK! I've never heard of that before. Take it easy for sure...lots of rest.

From facebook I come to your blog and find - the rest of the story! So glad they were able to staunch the blood flowing from your nose! YIKES - that's frightening!

But - no matter how beautiful and hotel-like a hospital can be designed - it's never fun to be there for any length of time. We'd just as soon only visit and not have to stay there!

Hope you are well again and mending quickly. Glad you were near medical care!

Oh my Ginny, it never rains but pours for you. Glad they were able to fix you up and you are home. Rest and recover.
That is a gorgeous hospital. It sure doesn't look like one.
I pray you have a wonderful Christmas and no more surprise visits to the ER.

Oh Ginny, I'm so sorry you had to go into the ER again. I used to get sinus infections, it's horrible. Luckily it's been many years since I had one of those now. I hope you get a peaceful Christmas and no more emergencies. That hospital does look nice for a hospital, but no matter how nicely decorated it may be, it's not where we prefer to spend Christmas, is it...

Sounds like you were blessed to be near a hospital.

I love the light....but otherwise, don't see anything special. I see everyone else thinks it pretty...I must be in a Grinch sort of mood.

I'm glad you were in the car and could get to the hospital quickly. I'm also glad you are now at home, and I hope you are feeling better.

The hospital you showed looks much better than the hospitals I've been in around here.
