Hungry Like The Wolf

There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.
 George Carlin

There  was a full moon on Saturday night. At first it came up big and pink. Then the sky slowly got darker, and the moon got smaller and paler as it rose. I guess you could say it was a whiter shade of pale! The January full moon is called The Full Wolf Moon . It is because this month is so cold, and the wolves look for food in the light of the moon. Then they howl! Poor hungry wolves.

“They will hunger no longer, nor thirst anymore; nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat..”
Rev 7

Such cool pictures. We have really had a lot of pink skies around here lately. I think they are beautiful and I am always Blessed by God's canvas. Hugs Ginny

I didn't need to look into the sky to see that it was full moon time. Seems that at the care centre there were a few people - and NOT residents - who were a little looney this past week - a sure sign that it's full moon! Moods were snarly - hope this week is better!

Love your photos though - and that coloring is lovely!

Beautiful moon picture Ginny! I'm reading a lot of 'chatter' about the wolf moon. I didn't even know what that meant. Still learning :-)

Sunset yesterday. Moonrise tonight. You have taken us for a trip around the world chasing the sun and moon last night and through today.

That pink color is amazing. Your got some really great shots Ginny. Once again we had foggy skies and the moon was hidden from us so I will enjoy your photos.

Great photos.
I didn't know why it was called a wolf moon.

Funny. I always notice the full moon and this month it was covered by rainy clouds. We've had rain since last Thursday and I'm lovin' every second of it. We need it.

Beautiful. I love the pinkish skies and don't see them often around here. I can almost picture the wolves moving about the trees.

Best,
Bonnie

Again you've captured the moon in some beautiful shots. I forgot all about looking for it but I doubt I would have been able to see it any way since it's been so cloudy
