We are The Hollow Men
Our dried voices when
We whisper together
Are quiet and meaningless
As wind in the dry grass
The eyes are not here
T.S. Eliot
These pipe men seem to be getting more and more popular around here. You see them not only at Halloween, but also walking in a park, or sitting on someone's porch. Have you seen any in your area?
He sees through vain
pretensions, spots evil a long way off— no one pulls the wool over his
eyes! Hollow men, hollow women, will wise up about the
same time mules learn to talk.

oh...those are recycle items, right? very creative...
The pipe men with their bleach bottle heads are so creative. I can see why they have become popular, with a few left over items a piece of art can be built. No, I haven't seen them here yet.
Our public library has a few of these around the property - one is reading a book!
I haven't seen any here. I love that last picture.
this is my first ever viewing of a hollow man... i like the last one best of all. cool shot with the shadow showing. down here we have plastic flamingo's in yards, which i totally hate... and big plastic sunflowers that whirly around. hope no one in my neighborhood sees these, they will put one out with the flamingos and plastic whirlys sunflowers...
I like the yellow one!
I'll have to keep my eye out for some of these. I have seen them but maybe it was in your area.
Best,
Bonnie
Those are awesome! Some people are so creative!
Sandra's comment made me smile. We have flamingo's here too, why it is the ne but we do... People steel them and you find them in crazy places... I could do without them also lol... No pipemen here as yet...
I really like the color of the last one! I haven't seen any of these in this area. Wonder if they're coming this way. You find the coolest stuff!
The yellow one is cool! Great post, Ginny, thanks for sharing.
Not seen any here but it is too cold to even think of walking outside. Four weeks into a deep freeze and snow has been here since Christmas.
Hi Ginny, These are the first of these hollow men that I have seen.
I think that your idea of having a journal for your girls is wonderful. What a marvelous keepsake it will be and a sweet gift to give them when they are grown with babies of their own. I would love to see their art work.
Have a glorious day.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Never saw anything like these guys! ...:)JP
Oh is a park very creative, I love the photos. There is much originality where you live. kisses
We don't have stick men like that exactly - but we are getting some art work all over the area. It is cute isn't it? I like your town. Send me where you live will you? sandie
What an interesting assortment of thin guys. I never saw anything like that. You do an excellent job of tying worldly things into inspirational thoughts. I do appreciate your loyalty to my blog. Seems people are not visiting as much or perhaps just I have nothing of interest.
I've never seen anything like these before. How clever and quirky. I love them. You sure do find the most interesting things
Interesting repurposing! This particular people group has not migrated to our neck of the woods yet!
I think they are cool...they are giving me and Idea...but it would take Roger to execute it. And if I ask him, he would probably not believe I wanted it done!
Haven't seen any except in your photos. You do capture the most eclectic assortment of beautiful, poignant. endearing, whimsical and weird. Way to go, Ginny!
