Morning, Glory!

A morning-glory at my window satisfies me more than the metaphysics of books. ~Walt Whitman

A few summers ago, Phil and I were driving in the country when we came upon this house. It was covered in morning glory vines! It does not translate as beautifully through the camera lens as it looked in real life, but take my word for it, it was stunning! I asked Phil to stop and I began snapping. But little did I know there was a watcher waiting in the back of the house. And he came running out HOWLING at the top of his lungs!!! Turned out this little hound was the star of the show instead of the morning glories. And he really was a glory himself. I wanted to stay and snap more, but being as this was in the boondocks, Phil was afraid that someone would come out with a shotgun any minute. So we sped off to the sound of distant baying.

“Moses and Aaron told the People of Israel, “This evening you will know that it is God who brought you out of Egypt; and in the morning you will see the Glory of God. Yes, he’s listened to your complaints against him. You haven’t been complaining against us, you know, but against God.”
Exodus 16

I love all the color on your blog Ginny. The header is gorgeous. Love the house in the boondocks. And where did you find that sweet dog?

Flowers are the poetry of earth. Unknown.

Love, sandie

Love morning glories. There's a house down the road from us that has them growing up the remains of an old tree every season. It's the prettiest scene.

That hound was a little sad sack. But - a cute sad sack.

What a cute little country house. :) The flowers are so beautiful! That puppy dog is adorable! I wonder what that is around his neck? GPS or a device to keep him from barking??

What a cutie pie dog he is. I drpped that package off at the post office this morning.
My basket was a gift. We watched the neighbor's animals when they went on a mission trip to honduras. They brought the basket back for US.

Ginny, I'm jumping back in to answer your question. If you sawthe movies Ryan's Daughter or Far and Away you have seen the Dingle peninsula. It is a beautiful place and the last in Ireland where the Irish language is still the first language of its residents. Blessings...Mary

Love all those morning glories. The greeter is quite the handsome guy too. I don't blame you though for hightailing it out of there.

Pretty little doggie... BUT--I'm glad you all got away from there quickly. One never knows what kind of people could have come after you. Some people don't like their picture (or pictures of their home) taken...

Pretty Morning Glories though.
Hugs,
Betsy

I am much happier when I watch for and appreciate evidence of the glory of the Lord rather than focusing on and complaining about imperfections in circumstances, myself and others.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
