Today's Blizzard: A Cat's View

Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.  ~Vista M. Kelly

Here is our blizzard from the cats pint of view out the windows. In a fast moving storm, we got 18 inches, shutting down the whole city. Our lilac bush is ruined, and tall pines were broken. So thankful that we only lost power for the morning. The only visitor we had today was this little fellow, I could almost see him shivering as he looked into our window and the warm cats looked back. So sorry little guy, but you were actually better outside then in here with three huge cats!

“Wild animals take shelter, crawling into their dens, when blizzards roar out of the north and freezing rain crusts the land. It’s God’s breath that forms the ice, it’s God’s breath that turns lakes and rivers solid.”
Job 37

It is a shame you lost the lilac bush. These late storms can be very destructive. I'm glad you and Phil escaped more serious damage. Blessings...Mary

Oh wow, that's a lot of snow Ginny. Sorry to hear about your lilac bush. But I'm glad you have power.

That little squirrel is so cute. I'll bet the cats had fun watching him. It's good to have you back.

Glad you back. You must be feeling better? At least the snow kept you in and not out over-doing after not feeling well. Thanks for the photos, though I'm about snowed out myself. Take care.

Wow--18 inches! I think it was our storm that came to you. We only had about 10 inches (and no hills, curvy roads or mountains to drive up and down). Love the kitty photos.

Best,
Bonnie

Wow, your snow looks like what we had last week! I'm glad you're safe and snug in your warm home, hope you and Phil are feeling much better now.

About the lilac, it may survive after pruning any damaged or broken parts off. They are pretty hardy. At least mine have been over the years. Hope yours makes it!

Meant to add that your kitties are so pretty and look so sweet looking out the window.

Sarah has a bunny that lives near her apartment. He kept hopping to her sliding glass door. She felt so sorry for him during the storm.

Being from the south it's hard to imagine that much snow! It looks beautiful but I know that it sure can cause hardships for people and even for little critters! Take care!

Oh no, that looks awful (even if it's better being inside looking out than being out there)! So not what one wants this time of year! We're still having cold (frosty) nights here but in the daytime it keeps thawing slowly.

The view from your window looks very much like the one from mine the other day, except,no cats to watch.:)

Wow that's way too much snow! But very beautiful pictures. It's really better outside for the squirrel than inside with kitties :-) Stay warm and I hope you and Phil are on recovery from flu.

Oh Ginny - that is a lot of snow there girl - you really did get a blizzard and the whole city shut down? That is amazing that up north it can do things like that. I thought y'all would be all prepared. Hugs, sandie

Wow---you all truly got slammed this time.. What a storm!!!! As much as I love snow, I don't ever want to see THAT much.. Hope your shrubs/bushes/trees will be okay.. Sometimes they can bounce back from storms like that. Hope so...

Stay SAFE.
Hugs,
Betsy

You had quite a storm. I imagine the cats were happy to be on the inside looking out. I was sorry to hear about the lilac bush -- lilacs are so beautiful and fragrant
