You should never turn your back on a fire because a monster might jump out at you! Do you see the eyes below? And the tail?
Soon he was putting the fire out.
Not bad for all the way across a cornfield! Did you know there are angel type creatures in the bible called Seraphim? They have 6 wings, and their name literally means "The Burning Ones". No angels tonight, at least not that I could see, but the fire made me think of them. This is burning for YOU, Sandra!
There’s a light in the distance,
overlooking a view,
Its’
burning by day and it’s burning by night
It
is burning for you
(My take on an old Strawbs song)
“Keep your eyes open, your lamp burning, so you don’t get musty and
murky. Keep your life as well-lighted as your best-lighted room.”

Interesting photos! That's quite a fire there! I DO see the eyes and also in a photo below it, if you turn your head to the left, it looks like eyes AND a mouth!
I'm a bit skeered of fire since our house burned down when I was 9 years old. It has stayed with me all these years even tho I wasn't home when it happened. We lost 2 dogs in that fire and all our possessions. My son always wants to have a fire going in the fire pit when he visits! So, I'm not that big a sissy I guess. :)
In answer to your question about my cats, yes, Stormy is the mostly white cat. And I have to say, she's my favorite, too. She's my little buddy and follows me around everywhere in the house. She even wants to sleep beside me!
Ginny you have a way of turning the everyday happening into special lessons in life. Thank you for letting your light shine where we all can share in it's lovely glow.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Amazing photos, Ginny. Wow, is that fire going!
Almost looks like the fire was trying to leap out of the barrel.
How amazing are these pictures Ginny! You find the most interesting things! And yes, i believe in angels!
I leave town and you and Sandra team up to confuse me. At first, I thought I'd clicked on Sandra's blog!! I do see that "monster".
Best,
Bonnie
You're like me...you tend to search and find other images within an image.
Great zoom photos by the way. And the fire is clear! [and pretty...does that make me a pyromaniac?]
thank you thank you thank you... i wish i had been there. that barrel is just like the one we had when i was growing up, but daddy would not let me get the flames that high... did you see the wolf in the one below the shot with the eyes and tails? so you got two monsters in yours and i only got a little man.
i tried burning pork rinds yesterday after reading on chatty crones about starting a fire with doritos, you know what will be next...
Did the man see you taking pictures? He must be wondering why...
Wow! That fire does have eyes and tail showing behing the man's back! Glad he put out the fire before it did something bad :-)
I always enjoy a fire, You can see pictures in the flames sometimes.
I always love fire shots!
We can't even begin to think of fire here - we in the highest fire hazard season just like last year, although we've had 3 rain storms in July which is unheard of.
I can see the fire monster... In the last picture too, there it looks like a burning garden gnome!
Good steady hands. The photos turn out nicely. The fire does looks like have two scary eyes and tail
In our country making a fire like that is forbidden.
Greetings,
Filip
Lol I wonder if he had any clue he was being watched?
These are great photos from so far away. I sure hope that man kept a close eye on that fire.
cool photos! I do see the eyes! I know Sandra must love this!
I respect fire and keep a distance but it is beautiful and mesmerizing. Your header and blog back ground is really cool or I should say hot :)
