The Price Of Freedom, How Much Is It?

Freedom is that instant between when someone tells you to do something and when you decide how to respond.  ~Jeffrey Borenstein

We all know that freedom and liberty have a price, and I now know exactly what the price is. Nestled inside a large gold and silver buying store/antique mall is this very imposing Statue Of  Liberty. Lady Liberty reaches to the ceiling, so is probably way over seven feet high. Yet she is made entirely from paper mache! She has stood watch over the stores treasures for many years now, and she is also for sale just like everything else. Now I ask you, what do you think the price of Liberty really is? Think carefully, my friends, and I will tell you on my next post! HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

Clever post. I'll leave it to the Americans to guess, I think :) Happy 4th July to you.

Lady Liberty does not look like paper at all... i am going to guess 200.00.. there is truly NO freedom, even the quote that says the period between question and answer there is not freedom there either, there is pressure from others for what they think that makes us answer the way we answer, it might not be the person asking, but could be anything from our parents and what they taught us..
no freedom at all...because we live with other humans... i am tryig to decide if a person on a desert island has freedom... but no, they can't get off the island... wow, did my mind go crazy on this question. i have confused myself.

Oh my goodness she's beautiful! Have you ever visited the real statue of liberty? It is a awesome sight. The climb to the top was so stressful because I'm afraid of heights! As always a great post Ginny!

It is made of paper.mache? Wow it does not look like paper at all! My guess for the price is $177.60. I look forward to the next post for answer :-) Have happy 4th of July!

She is lovely and doesn't look like paper mache. I see that Tamago has already guessed the price I was thinking but I'll still go with that.

I like that quote. As long as I have freedom of choice I am free.

Priceless, Ginny, just priceless. And I think we take it for granted so much of the time. And our freedom in Christ? A treasure way beyond price, and such an unfathomable price that was paid to procure it! Thanks for a lovely and through provoking post, have a wonderful Fourth of July!

I will guess lady Liberty is priced pretty high if she has been there for a few years. My guess is 375.00. I believe the only true freedom we have is found in Christ. No one can take away our Faith.

oh this is perfect. Now considering you said that Liberty has been there for several years I assume she's not cheap. I like Tamago's answer, it makes perfect sense

Ginny, I have no idea. So, rather than confuse myself, I'll wait for your answer :-). I did make all the salads
in a marathon session last night. I just finished with the bread and desserts and will soon be off for a pancake breakfast. Have a great holiday. Blessings...Mary

I have no idea how we can put a price on liberty, but I do like your picture.

Didn't get here soon enough to guess! I would have guessed more than what you revealed she actually costs. Also depends on who the artist is I guess! Great job!

I am late - but I don't think it's ever to too late to make a comment on the red - white- and blue! There are not many things I like better in this world then that beautiful flag blowing in the wind. Makes me get goosebumps! sandie
