We were driving around a large barn not long ago, and out came these cats! They had been hiding in the barn and various other places, and they all came rushing out to see what was up. And the number was endless...I dare you to count all the cats in some of these pictures. I did not snap even half of them because my camera lens was not wide enough.They are not pets, they are barn cats. I had never seen so many in one place.

There shouldn't be a mouse problem on that farm :) I enlarged that first picture and saw at least 10 of them.
My goodness....lots and lots of kitties....but that is typical on a farm. Keeps the nasty critters away.

Being the soppy kind, I just wondered if they were all well fed, they look okay in the photo's.

These are amazing cat shots. They usually don't hold still long enough to get a photo but there were so many of them. I wonder if they thought you might feed them.

It may be a colony. Some cat organizations use barn cat colonies for unsocialized cats. They still get their shots and food if they need it, and are sterilized. They have some really pretty ones there!
Must be Barn Cats... Many farmers/others keep cats in their barns to keep the rats and other critters out of there... They are 'feral' cats --and don't ever go near humans much... They can be dangerous since they keep having babies --and just take over the area... People try to capture them and make them sterile --and then send them back to their 'homes'... Great set of pictures.

Aren't they adorable? Great photos Ginny and that old barn and silo shot is lovely too. Our family in North Dakota, the ones that live on the homestead, have many cats just like this one.
They are all beautiful kitties. I hope they are getting good veterinary care and proper nutrition as barn cat there. Some of them look very curious looking at you :-)

Oh, Ginny! I so love all of these! It has just been a joy to look through them, and I bet I will look through them again in the days to come. They are all such great photos, too. You really hit a homerun with these!

They looked like well taken care of cats - I wonder if there are any people around or what. They were beautiful pictures.
Those are some fine looking working cats. Being a barn cat means hard work catching all those mice. They all look well taken care of and I'm hoping they are all spayed/neutered.
I have read fiction and non-fiction which mentioned barn cats, but i have never seen any, even in photos, until now. And what I read never indicated more than a few. Your encounter is amazing and intriguing.
Some if them have such beautiful and unusual markings! Enjoyed the story and verse.
