Still Falling








These fell off a tree; there are a lot
Some are even starting to rot! 
They are just down the street from me
And I was very glad to see.
What are they? You can take a guess.
On my next post I will confess!

I was thinking osage orange...but they're not 'bumpy' enough. Or are they?

not apples, not grapefruit, not plums or oranges, not figs or nuts of anykind. can you tell i have no clue? waiting to find out. they look like God's decorations for that tree to me

Are they walnuts? There was a walnut tree at the home where I grew up. At night, the walnuts would fall off the tree and roll down the roof and wake us!!!

Either tennis balls or walnuts. I'm pretty sure walnuts.

I think it's walnuts!! We had a walnut tree when I was a little boy and these look JUST like them :)

I was just thinking about walnuts today!!! and how we used to put rubber gloves on and smash them to get to the nut. It was a mess, but well worth it in the end. I will say black walnuts...

Don't you mean their hull is starting to rot!!! I need to go gather some...I love walnuts! It does not even bother me for my hands to get stained.
