The Elf

We happened to drive past this the other day. I had never seen anything like it. After taking these pictures, I did some research.

It has solar panels on top and pedals; a cross between a bike and a car. See the pedals? It is shaped like a backwards tricycle.

It has a rechargeable battery and does not use gas. They cost between $5,000 to 10,000. This sign warns to keep your feet on the pedals!

My question is, how do you keep it from being stolen? It is awfully cute though.

“It's easy to believe in magic when you're young. Anything you couldn't explain was magic then. It didn't matter if it was science or a fairy tale. Electricity and elves were both infinitely mysterious and equally possible — elves probably more so.”

I've been seeing a commercial for something similar. They called it something else but I can't remember the name. They are pretty cool. Good question on how you keep it from getting stolen. I suppose you would have to lock it up like you would a bike

my first viewing of one of these, not even seen on TV or in ads. it is adorable. I assume it is a one person car, or is there a back seat? it really is cute, I even love the color.....

This is completely new to me as well. It might be good for a city or town, but I doubt I'll see many here in the mountains.

I've never seen one either. It looks fun, but a little expensive and I can see it getting stolen too unless there is a way to lock it down.

That is very cute and looks so interesting! I've never seen something like this before. It must be useful to drive around in a small town :-)

It is so colorful, it probably would be easily found if stolen. It is really cute and you keep finding such interesting things to post. I think I need to get out more.

Oh my goodness, I have never seen one of these before. Thanks for introducing it to us. Nice that it's a solar and wouldn't be too hard on the legs and knees with a little help from the sun :) Maybe there's a lock on those wheels to stop it from getting stolen. I'd be interested in finding that out.

I've never seen one like that either. Cute, but I wouldn't know where to park it if I had one... :)

That looks very interesting. Around here lots of folks have the motorized scooters. This would work well, especially during the summer months.

Awesome looking and might be fun if the electric motor was powerful for hills.
