This is a recent picture of Toodles the kitty and her girl. The girl being our granddaughter Anne Marie. As Anne Marie's mom says, it is clearly a cat and her girl, not a girl and her cat. Because you can clearly see who owns who.
A dog has an owner. A cat has staff.
