Prickley

I sure did what this quote commanded when we came across this tree. These little brown balls are so intricate. They are God's tree decorations!

Is this a buckeye tree?

You have a good eye for detail. I don't think I ever saw any like these? Do you know what tree it is?

These are fascinating. They really do look like decorations hung from the branches.

These really make for some cool photos. We have those here in Florida too but I can only remember seeing them on the ground and wondering what they were from. Really nice Ginny!

I like your pictures and both quotes. The quotes may very well apply to 'prickly' people as well.

That looks like a Sweet Gum to me...is it? I know Sycamore have those but these look a bit too small.

Anyway, wouldn't they be pretty painted silver and gold and hung on our Christmas trees!

Yes, this is a Sweet Gum Tree and plentiful in the woods down south. Small boys used to use them as 'ammo' when they played pretend war. Also make good Christmas decorations.

I love that you always change your background here. I find myself wondering what I may see today. Prickly things abound here in our canyon. Some years we have these huge tumble weeds, called Russian thistles that gather at my gate. If I forget to bring my gloves, I'm in trouble.

You asked if we have power outages here. Not very often, considering how much the strong winds blow. I have no tall trees here, so no worries for me. Last time we had an outage for several days was after our epic 2019 Christmas snowstorm which dumped almost three feet of snow here. It was out for two days and so, so cold in here.

Oh yes, it pays to take note of the little things, even when they are prickly.
