On the drive from my last post, this is the first thing we saw.
It was an Osprey (Fish Eagle) sitting under the moon.
Nearby, we spotted a Green Heron.
And standing by the river was a majestic Blue Heron. They are very good at being absolutely still for long periods of time.
A second Blue Heron was behind a chain link fence. I like the way the bird and it's reflection are in different fence sections.
The mountains were blue in the dusk.
And the moon was getting brighter. Time to go home.

Beautiful picture of the moon. I took one tonight, but couldn’t see any details, probably because of the haze from the fires. π
Beautiful, quiet evening glory...both with birds and natural scenes.
Beautiful capture of the Osprey sitting under the moon. As always, you take great pictures of the moon. Enjoy your weekend.
I like the fence photo of the heron + reflection; and your moon photos are always amazing. I'm convinced you must live closer to the moon than I do!!! :)
Your photos are beautiful. I love that first one.
You sure captured a lot of beauty on your drive.
if not for the mountains it looks like you visited Florida
If I didn't know better I would guess you lived by a beach for the things you saw. Those were all amazing for a drive. I would never see that here in GA where I live!
What a great capture, that chainlink photo. Looks like you had a fun time watching the birds. And your moon shots are the best. I have one tomorrow, the moon is tiny, tiny, tiny. I must fire up my camera and stop using my phone. Phones are good for some pictures, but you really can't capture nature with them very well.
You have some great captures. I like the day moon and I too took another of the moon at night. It has changed since I last took my photo. I like seeing the different birds.
What a beautiful drive! I love seeing all those different birds.
Wow! You had some amazing sightings.
Great selection of birds along the water. Perhaps they were admiring the moon too, although I suspect that food was more top of mind for them!
The Blue Heron is such a pretty bird. I often wonder why they call it blue, as it doesn't look very blue every time I see it. The Osprey is a grand bird, and I recently saw one in flight at the creek. So glad you had a pleasant drive, seeing many interesting birds of nature.
Have a lovely Sunday.

Beautiful picture of the osprey. And the moon sure is pretty.
Thanks for an indoor visit with the great out of doors!
I love that first picture! I think it's frame worthy.
Oh wow, great captures!
Stunning photos of the birds, mountains, and moon, Ginny! xoxo
Love all the photos. Stunning, that moon. :-)
