Old Calendars

What do you do with your old calendars? When the new year comes, I look through all the pictures, and tear out my favorites. I have plans to frame them, but never have yet. I will, though!! Here are the two that I saved from last year's calendar, I love them!

I used to do that too! I always had the intention of doing something with them but they'd only get stuffed in a folder. Now I only save pictures if they come out of a Norman Rockwell calender because he's my favorite.

I sometimes save pictures from old calendars too. I haven't framed any, at least not lately (wouldn't know where to put them, I feel my walls are pretty full by now). But I sometimes use them for hobby projects, like scrap-booking, or gift-wrapping etc.

I keep my calendars for 5 years, in a drawer. they have all the year of stuff we did or doc appts. each year I throw one away and add the newest to the stack. I have used them many times, like to see when I last had a mammo or when bob last had blood work. that and my blog I can look up past events.

I like both the pictures. I had a couple old calendars saved to use for crafting but I never got around to doing anything with them.

They sure are beautiful! Definitely good choices to frame - or just to use for blog headers :) I hope all has been well in your world Ginny, I've sure missed reading here and seeing what you're up to. I'll be back soon!

I save my calendars and cut out the various images to use in my artwork... usually as ephemera for my mixed media collages. Those pictures of yours are absolutely beautiful, Ginny. May I ask what calendar they're from? ~Andrea xoxoxo

I always struggle tossing the old calendar too. I love your idea of framing the favorite photos.
I Love the quote.
I am writing it in my book of quotes.

I may save a calendar here or there, if it has some special meaning to me, but most get tossed.

I was just thinking about that and what to do with old calendars, Ginny. I used to save mine for many years, and when I moved, I left them behind at the old house. Now, I only have the last couple years of calendars, but after awhile, I will probably toss them at some point. I love the "windy day" quote. Have a restful weekend.

Very pretty! I do that too, keep old favorites from calendars that I intend to frame but never do :) Enjoyed the quote also.

I save our old calendars for a year or so...they are full of post-it notes telling us of the appointments we had. Sometimes that information comes in handy.

I do the same with my calendars too, Ginny, with plans to frame but like you haven'y yet. ~wink~. Enjoyed the last post too, Ms Stewart is a very savvy entrepreneur, I used to watch her regularly, finally realized I didn't have the money to buy or do the things she does.
Thanks for sharing.

I love these too!! I have used some of mine to decoupage on walls down here at the camper/cabin. Love the way you do your blog background and header with every post! Wish I could do that!

I always get one of her calendars. Her artwork has always fascinated me. I have several of them saved and have framed a few of the prints that I bring out for the season. xo Diana

So pretty! I don't usually use a wall calendar, but I was given a great one by friends this year and I know I will want to save at least a few of the pictures at the end of the year. Take care and keep cozy!

I still have a lot of calendars from the 80's when my kids were small. They are kind of a little diary of events and things that they did! I haven't kept a calendar for a while now!

Ginny, you are Deacons at your Church? Then, I'm thinking you are Catholic? The Deacons at my old Church did so many things. I appreciate them very much. What a wonderful thing for you and your husband to do. Yes, I miss going to Mass, but I watch Mass on-line every week with Father Mike Schmitz. He really relates to the people, young and old. Have a lovely Monday, Ginny.

Love that last quote. Such magic there is in nature.

With our downsizing I am trying to abandon my urge to save, save all the lovely things that call to me. With our move, we have wonderful framed prints of Hubby's photos of travels and family. The photos and art we have collected now reside in our attic! Friends close to my age are having the same challenge of beloved "attic art."
