The Thin Blue Line

This sculpture sits on the wall of police headquarters in the city of Richmond, Virginia. It is called "Thin Blue Line".

You can see that the blue line runs down from the top of the building to the bottom of the face.

It was made from stainless steel by Michael Stutz.

On Sunday, we brought the girls over. We all went to the new Dunkin' Donuts, then back home to do Easter crafts and other fun things. First, we made Easter gnomes.

Then we colored sugar cookies with food safe markers.

More cookies were eaten than were colored.

Then we played with the SD game.

And watched Paw Patrol.

Time for big hugs before going home!

Sunday Sunset

As the sun was setting, this huge cloud was ahead of us as we drove. Pink on the bottom, and ever changing as the sun got lower, I loved it! In order.

Bird Brains

Here are a couple pics to smile at, beside the fact that the weekend is here!

This may be a big baby wanting fed.

The Pear Trees

The Pear Trees are blooming now. They are always the first tree to bloom in the spring.

These last two shots are the same trees, but taken from different angles.

The Kitchen

We have had the same neutral and kind of boring blue kitchen for probably over 15 years. And now I want something brighter and more cheerful. Since I have so many Pioneer woman things, I decided to do the kitchen in her colors. The only things I changed were the paint, curtains, and backsplash.

SO, here is the old kitchen:

Now, here is the new that we just did.

I did the backsplash with peel & stick. Cheap and easy.

And it matches really well with all my Pioneer Woman things.

Stop!

A few days ago, we passed this. It is a portable stoplight! Have you ever heard of such a thing? This was a first for me.

What did the stoplight say to the car?...

Don’t look, I’m changing.

Aftermath

When I was done shooting the full moon, we saw the sun setting on the other side of the sky. It was a beautiful and unusual sunset.

Marching Into Spring

This month's full moon is called "The Full Worm Moon". The Native Americans named all the moons according to what they saw at the time. Right now the ground is thawing and the worms are coming out. It was so cloudy that I almost gave up.

See how the trees look orange? In fact, there were no leaves on them. The sunset was turning them orange.

Wait till you see what we saw right after the moon rose! That will be my next post.

Oh, Spring is surely coming,
Her couriers fill the air;
Each morn are new arrivals,
Each night her ways prepare;
I scent her fragrant garments,
Her foot is on the stair.

Remember my last post of the unusual angel and homemade tree in a yard close by? Well, they both light up!!! We passed them tonight. So her...
