It's the first of November, and as I have been doing, I'll show you my monthly calendar page.
I think it is pretty drab, and not the wild colors of November. But the little birds save it.

The big cow is dressed and ready in his costume for Halloween. He is dressed as Beetlejuice. A popular movie which I have never seen.
Instead of the little calf, he has a black cat by his side. Looks like it is homemade by painting corrugated cardboard, so clever!
Beetlejuice gets around. On the way home, I saw him breaking into a van!
"The cow drinks water
and it turns to milk; the snake drinks water and it turns to poison."
Japanese proverb
About three houses up the street is this house. They have the most interesting thing out front. It is a graveyard of things that have died along with the dinosaurs. things like:
·
Please & thank you
·
Affordable housing
·
Common decency
·
Bipartisan cooperation
“The fence around a
cemetery is foolish, for those inside can't come out and those outside don't
want to get in.”
Arthur Brisbane
Our neighborhood has two homes that have really inventive and elaborate decorations. Here is a pirate ship, they created so much detail! It is apparently being attacked by some kind of giant octopus.
This next one is an old-fashioned carriage. I believe it is a hearse, as you can see the skeleton laying down in the back. We were driving past fast, and I only got one quick shot.
“There comes a time
in a man’s life when he hears the call of the sea. “Hey, YOU!” are the sea’s
exact words. If the man has a brain in his head, he will hang up the phone
immediately.”
Dave Barry
“It’s funny that
pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never
realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating.”
Jack Handey
“In a world of black
and white, be the pastel color.”
“Pastels are like
whispers of color, soft spoken yet powerful in their ability to evoke
emotions.”
About two houses up from us, this house has the prettiest fall decorations out front. They hung pumpkins all over their huge tree.
But my favorite part of this is the big old swing hanging from the tree. They put an orange throw and a big pumpkin on it. Wouldn't you just love to sit there?
Here is the front entrance of the house.
The Last Push
Push me one last
time,
Before the sun bids farewell,
Swing me into dreams.
“Swinging on a swing takes you back
to those carefree moments when time seemed to stand still, and all that
mattered was the wind in your hair.”
Do you belong to Costco? We recently went, so come with me and see some of the unusual things they had. No, I did not buy any of them. We were looking for medicine. The greeter at the door was all dressed up in a costume! I asked her why, and she said it is just to make people happy, because it is right before the holidays. I was glad to hear they didn't actually MAKE her.
Whoops! I think she caught me!! Anyway, right inside the door, what else but more giant decorations. The teddy bear was so huge that I could not fit him all in the photo no matter how far away I got!
This was a strange creature. Apparently, a Disney character.
And look! Mona Lisa Legos!! I bet they cost a pretty penny.
Poinsettia Legos, too.
Time to go. O.K., I admit I bought a box of cookies.
I’m sort of
like Costco. I’m big, I’m not fancy and I dare you to not like me.
You may remember when I posted my big and small flags in the front of the house. They were so bright! So I swapped them with some others I have. I like these better. Here is the big one.
And here is the small one.
My last post showed you some of the giant decor inside the stores. Now here are the giants outside. More room to be even bigger!
And just so I can leave you with something pretty, here are some of the trees we passed today.
Remember my last post of the unusual angel and homemade tree in a yard close by? Well, they both light up!!! We passed them tonight. So her...
