For Christmas last month, I gave my girlfriend this. Here is what the description on Amazon said it is:
What the heck?
The description of this is 5 different things!
1.Poncho
2.Shawl
3.Cape
4.Ruana
5.Cardigan
And what Is a Ruana anyway?
“A ruana is a
wool poncho-style outer garment native to the Colombian and Venezuelan Andes.”
It was very soft and beautiful though. Here she is trying it on in the mirror with me snapping behind her.
I'm thinking of buying one myself.
“A poncho turns a
breeze into a moment.”

This is so lovely, Ginny. And your friend looks beautiful wearing it.
Well, I hope she loves it - it sure looks cozy!
It does look warm and cozy! 😊❤️
living in cold country, this would be perfect to throw on and go to your mailbox, or for me wandering around in the back yard in middle of night with a sick dog. and a blog friend says she has to wear something inside the house, when its 9 degrees outside, this would be comfy as a layer. Iove the photo of both of you and another good thing is one size does fit all... I have never seen one or even heard of one..
This is really pretty and it looks like it would be nice and warm
It's pretty and looks so cozy too!
This is so nice!! Nice if you to purchase this for your friend and such a nice gift. These are the kind of things I like to wear instead of a coat
Beautiful and practical, Ginny!
I like that - I am going to check it out on Amazon!
Oh, at first I thought it was a poncho! And then you said it was! My mom knitted me a pink poncho when I was a young girl, and I still remember it. This is such a thoughtful gift you got your friend, Ginny. It looks like it will keep her warm through winter and even Spring when some of those cold days linger on. That's really neat, and the colors are warm and soothing. I chuckled what you said about the Amazon description because I see that a lot when I order things. ; ) It looks soft and very nice, Ginny.
What beautiful colors on the poncho et all.
I know your friend will get so much use from it. Warm and cozy for sure.

It looks so nice and warm too. Great gift.
It looks very nice!
Never heard the word ruana before! Nor seen any item like it in shops here :)
I have a few that I bought when I got my shoulder surgery. I call them shawls and still use them to this day!
I love it, it is so pretty. I like her hat too.

Ginny, if you enlarge the picture on my blog today you will be able to read the carton. The drink is definitely for animals.
I took this picture at an old antique store. That carton is from the 1800's I believe.

I bet that would keep you and your friend nice and toasty. It's lovely!
It looks so cozy and warm, and it looks really nice on your friend.
