Side Of The Road Saturday - The Dome

People around here put all kinds of things out on the side of the road. They are surprising, amazing, or just weird.  Poor people drive around town in pickup trucks and often take the things before the junk man comes. So this is the beginning of a series on side of the road things; every once in awhile I will post something on the street. This yellow dome sits across the street in a pile of trash, and it has been there for about two weeks or more. No one wants it, even the roaming trucks won't take it. What do you think it is? There are a few straps attached and it says "Body Dome". Phil thinks you stand on it and pull the straps for exercise, but that makes no sense, how could you stand on such a dome? A better idea is that it is small crashed flying saucer, so I'm keeping my eyes on it for tiny men to come out any day. I hope they don't get hit crossing the road. Perhaps I'd better bring it inside, after all, nobody else wants it...

“And then, as they stood with folded wings, there was a voice from above the dome over their heads. Above the dome there was something that looked like a throne, sky-blue like a sapphire, with a human-like figure towering above the throne. From what I could see, from the waist up he looked like burnished bronze and from the waist down like a blazing fire. Brightness everywhere! The way a rainbow springs out of the sky on a rainy day—that's what it was like. It turned out to be the Glory of God! When I saw all this, I fell to my knees, my face to the ground.”
Ezekiel 1

This is a very interesting find. I must admit that I googled 'Body Dome' and found that Phil is right. It is a device used for exercise.

Phil's right. Here's a link. http://www.jumpusa.com/body_dome.html

Funny.

Yeah, I had to Goggle it too!

I like your idea better Ginny, keep watching for those tiny men. If you bring it inside you could be the first human to make contact with the aliens. You would get exclusive photo rights! See, your idea is more fun!

You are funny! I think Phil is right though.

What a great idea for a Saturday series. We have a local "dumping ground" around here, too. I've seen all kinds of things there.

It's amazing what finds its way by the side of the road. It does look more like a UFO than exercise equipment. So cool that you found a verse with the word dome.

Well I want to try it if it's an exercise for balance or something. I stood on a balance thingy at the gym and had trouble doing it. :(

I would take it - need to get more balanced! If it's been out there on the side of the road be sure the ants haven't moved in and taken over!

An obviously not too successful exercise device :-). You have an eye for the unusual, Ginny, and it makes for some mighty interesting posts. Have a great weekend. Blessings...Mary.

I'm going with the UFO idea. Please be sure to post photos of the little green men.

You got me - haven't seen any in this neck of the woods.

I looked it up and you do stand on it to exercise...I would end up with something broken.

Interesting object. I was going to Google it but read the other comments first.I have no idea how or even why anyone would want to use this. :)

I'm like you Ginny. I think it needs a home and I'd be willing to pull it over to my side of the road. Not that I could exercise on a dome, though. I like the shape and the color. It would add something to our garden, I think.

Hmmmm - interesting looking thing - even if it is for exercise. Not something I'd want!! ;o)

....Oh I tend to think more on the 'lines of something from outerspace'. LOL

Your idea is way more fun! People put stuff by the road here in Orlando too. I think it's great if someone needs something and they can get it for free. It's all about recycling. :)

I'm sure I'd throw that thing out after two minutes as well.. LOL

This obviously didn't work well as an exercisor! It does make a colorful and puzzling roadside decoration :)
