One must ask children and birds how
cherries and strawberries taste.
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Tonight is the strawberry moon, so named because this month is the very short season for harvesting strawberries. There were no clouds, so I got a clear shot of it. My granddaughter Anne Marie goes to the strawberry patch every year. As you can see, on her first trip she hadn't quite got the hang of it yet. I think her shrieks were causing a bit of ear damage to her friend, who looks quite pained, though trying to continue eating her berry. The last shot is about five years later, I believe in the same strawberry patch, and what a difference!
“But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our
lives, much the same way that fruit
appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life,
serenity.”
Galatians 5
A few things have come up, so I will be off the computer for the next two days. I will miss you all, but hopefully see you on Wednesday!

Just sitting here looking at the moon - wondering why so many folks around here are a little looney! We're enjoying strawberries and even watermelon already! Hope your days off are not too strenuous!
I love strawberries too! =)
I hope you are okay!

It looks like Anne Marie has got the strawberry thing figured out now. That is the cutest photo of her. I didn't know about the strawberry moon. I love strawberries!
Love the pictures and your thoughts! Sometimes He does bring fruit into our lives but through painfull ways and it's only in retrospect that you can see the way of His working. Joan
I love seeing Anne Marie as a baby. Berry cute:)
Aww...precious photos. I love the memories I have of my daughter in the berries.

Oh my, that middle photo is just so precious and funny! Your granddaughter looks so beautiful in that last picture...what a blessed grandma you are!
Ginny, I truly love these pictures. I used to take my little girls to pick strawberries with me back in NY state. Anne Marie is such a beautiful child, she glows from inside out. Like, you, life keeps giving me less and less time to blog and visit dear friends like you. Am going back and try to catch up with some of your posts. Take care, my friend.
Ginny, great post...lovely pictures!
I'm so-so on strawberries but I love to pick 'em and eat 'em. She is so cute.
Hi Ginny, Wonderful Moon photo and also excellent pictures of your Granddaughter and the berries. I enjoy Strawberries but can't eat many as I get hives at times. Have a great day and a nice coming week! I like that Goethe quote you included.
I got a great shot of the moon last night, too! But I didn't know it was the strawberry moon!
I did not know there was a strawberry moon but you captured a great pic of it
Glad to see that Anne Marie changed her mind about strawberries :) That first picture of the two girls is too cute.
Haven't had any Swedish strawberries yet this season, but I did have some imported Belgian ones a couple of weeks ago!

Wow Ginny...I'm so fascinated by the way the moon gets its name according to the season. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures! The strawberries in our region (cultivated nearly a 100 kms from where I live) aren't all that sweet. These ones from your patch must taste heavenly!
Ginny, I had been admiring the moon, but didn't know it was the strawberry moon! Thank you for that interesting tidbit. Ann Marie is just too cute in the strawberry patch. They do change so quickly!! blessings ~ tanna
The strawberries will soon be ripe here. My DIL makes wonderful freezer jam from them.
What a lovely post, Ginny. The header photo is stunning and the glimpses of Ann Marie are very sweet. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
Does she eat as many there as she brings home???
Yum! She's so cute.
See you around tomorrow then!
My strawberries are doing really well this year! I guess all the rian we've been having is good for them.
