The night has a thousand eyes,
And the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies
With the dying sun.
The mind has a thousand eyes,
And the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies
When love is done.
Francis William Bourdillon
As we were driving home late on Tuesday, I spotted these trees in the black darkness. When we pulled off the road and stopped, the night was quiet as a church. I thought that my camera would not be able to get usable pictures, but tried anyway. I was pleasantly surprised by the strange effect.
"On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings.
My soul clings to you;
Your right hand upholds me." Psalm 63:6,8

Those are beautiful. I have lots of photos of bare trees there in Waynesboro, but nothing like these.
Gorgeous Ginny.... The coloring is amazing in those pictures. You did GREAT!!!!
We're having a wonderful time in Arkansas--but it's passing by too quickly. The weather has been great considering the fact that it was snowing at home.
Hugs,
Betsy
Hi Ginny
Thanks for visiting my blogs. It is fun to experiment a bit with the camera isn't it. Sometimes pictures do come out a lot better than we thought.
Great photos Ginny, the light was just right to create this beautiful effect. Even when you're not sure about the light it never hurts to try.
The little squirrel is a Fox squirrel. They are larger than Red or Gray squirrels. It's the only kind we have in our area.
tis a good thing you tried. they are wonderful. odd colors and we never know what the camera will pick up, or at least I don't. I love it when I take a shot that I think will not work and it does something special like these. like that poem to.
These are wonderful pictures. I'm glad you stopped to get them.
