Can you tell what this is, or does it look like some modernistic artwork? It rained here tonight, and as I sat in the front seat of the car, I took these these pictures of the raindrops on the windshield. If you look closely, you will see that they are not really drops at all, but have five sides and even a nucleus in the center. The pictures are black and white because it was night, but there was just enough light from the parking lot to see. Amazing how a light in the darkness can transform things.

Well done Ginny, the droplets really made some great pattern. I especially like the way the light caught the drops in your first photo.
Pretty amazing. I had no idea raindrops would appear so uniformly pentagonal. I wonder if there's a scientific explanation--or was it the type of car you were in? : )

these are amazing, i thought it was confetti. hitting the glass completely changes the droplets. great idea now i want to try it. since i don't drive in the rain and we keep our trucks in the garage, i will have to bakc it out in the drive way when its raining. Maybe NOT

It is raining hee today ...a good thing as the trees and shrubs need a nice steady rainfall to revive themselves.

Yes we have rain too. I have one last Monarch that emerged this morning and he has yet to gain the confidence to fly... better hurry. I am trying to get him off and into the forest between the rain showers.

We missed all of the rain again... It has been very cloudy here to two days --and VERY cool, but no rain --other than sprinkles.... Darn!!!!
I would never have guessed raindrops... It's amazing that their shape is not a 'drop' at all.... Guess we should change the name of them from drops to pentagonals.... ha ha ha

My bro says it works for him, and Australia's summer is very hot. I have not used them.
My husband is quite paranoid about using plastic in the microwave. I just use class. Even takeaway container when they say is microwaveable, he doesn't like us to use it. And he is engineer/scientist. Who am I to argue with him.
I think these are beautiful! I thought they were some kind of sea shell at first. Love droplets and they are splendid in the night light! Pretty camel Ginny.

I really thought those are some kind of art work... abstract ones. They look artistic though. Isn't it amazing how our mind works when we are bored? hahahaha very creative Ginny. Love it.
