A Chorus Of Color

This past weekend we travelled to a couple nearby cities to do some Christmas shopping. It was a beautiful weekend, almost like summer. We had to go over the mountains, and the trees had just changed color, a beautiful sight every year. These are some of the pictures I snapped along the way. It was a powerful beauty.

"God made the heavens-royal splendor radiates from him, a powerful beauty sets him apart...let wilderness turn cartwheels, animals, come dance, put every tree of the forest in the choir..." The Message: Psalm 96

Beautiful autumn color Ginny, those are gorgeous views. You have a lot more leaves on your trees than we do. We are having strong wind right now so tomorrow most of our trees will probably be almost bare. I will just enjoy your leaves in that lovely header photo.

I-64? It's an autumn drive that everyone should take at least once!! Your header is gorgeous today. Well, it's always gorgeous but today it takes my breath away.

Best,
Bonnie

It looks very pretty. We are way beyond that now as pretty much all the leaves have fallen. Only the stubborn oaks hold on to their leaves like an old lady holds on to her purse...tight and clutching.

Hi Ginny, Your title (Chorus of Color) is wonderful --describing all of the colors of Autumn....

I hate to see Fall leave us this year --since it was just so beautiful....

Great header also.
Hugs,
Betsy

What gorgeous fall color. You captured it perfectly and have given us some powerful pictures. You asked about the time required to join the order. It is 1 year of volunteer labor + 9 years of study and contemplation. Obviously, all who start do not finish. Have a great day, Ginny.

Oh, I am jealous! Our color is about gone. I just hate to see the vibrant colors of fall disappear into a cold and dreary winter. All these images are so beautiful and will be wonderful to remember when the leaves are gone!

It is so pretty. It is like God is giving us a special gift every morning as we drive to work! I am glad you take time to see the beauty!

Wonderful colors! It's easy to understand why folks travel from coast to coast just to see these glowing stands of trees.

Wow! The header photo makes me long for some color. I grew up in an area with mostly pine trees--year round green. Our first year of marriage, my husband and I lived in northern Mississippi where the hardwoods were abundant. That first fall and spring blew me away and let me know that I had been arborially(?) disadvantaged.
