Buck Up!!

Tonight was the Full Buck Moon, and these are the pictures I just got! The lines you see across it are thin wisps of clouds. It is called this because now is when the buck deer antlers come out. It is also called the full thunder moon because this month is usually when there is the most thunderstorms. I kinda like the thunder name better, how about you?

"Listen! Listen to the roar of his voice, to the rumbling that comes from his mouth. He unleashes his lightening beneath the whole heaven and sends it to the ends of the earth. After that comes the sound of his roar; he thunders with his majestic voice. When his voice resounds, he holds nothing back. God's voice thunders in marvelous ways; he does great things beyond our understanding." Job 37:2,5

Ginny, you always get the most gorgeous moon photos. The name Thunder Moon does seem to fit, we had thunderstorms earlier in the week and there is a chance of some this weekend.

I'll be telling you more about my header photo later, glad you liked it.

I'm with you--thunder moon sounds better. Gorgeous photo! Were you and Phil zooming around town to get the best shot?

Have a great weekend.

I was totally in the dark about the names "Full Buck Moon" and "Thunder Moon". However, I will remember "Buck Moon" because I'll be looking for that buck with his antlers out very soon now!

You got great pictures of the Thunder Moon (I do like that name better). We've had heavy cloud cover and rain for the past two nights, so I haven't been able to get any pictures. Maybe tonight.

There were a couple of little bucks in the yard the other night ... their antlers are covered with fuzz this time of year.

I'm more likely to experience the thunder than I am the deer antlers. Great photos.

Great shots of that Thunder Moon.
I think it was peeking in my window the other night. It seemed like daylight.
Wonderful thought for the day too.

These are really gorgeous photos! Everytime I visit blogs, I am reminded that I need to get something other than a point-and-click camera!

Truly amazing moon shots. I never can get any to look like this. Probably the camera has a lot to do with it. My sister works in a Hospice Hospital and says when it it s a full moon the patients are worse.

I just wish there had been a little more thunder and rain this week. The big storm that came down from your area simply divided in two and half went to the west and half went to the east in Va Beach and we got nary a drop.
