Life Is Like A Box Of Chocolates - Two Hershey Factories

We live about ten minutes from a Hershey Factory. But woe is me, this particular factory does not give tours! So I was reduced to driving around their deserted parking lot after hours to take the first two pictures and the header. And I did see something worth snapping. Their streetlights are giant Hershey Kisses!! But now my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter have just spent a few days on vacation in Pa., and they went on the kids tour of the Hershey factory there. My daughter-in-law took the last four pictures. They gave all the kids these cute little hats, and see the Hershey Kiss machine? After the tour, our son and his daughter enjoyed a big bowl of Hershey ice-cream. Sweet!

I like the way they alternated the lights with wrapped and unwrapped chocolate, that's cute.

Too bad the one near you doesn't do tours. It looks like Anne Marie had a very "sweet" time at the factory tour.

why don't you go an volunteer to be their PR lady and tell them it will be good for the school kids and for you, getting lots of samples.

actually, I don't like the kisses. I like big chunks of choc, not fiddly bits of foil to remove, and have such a tiny bit of choc.

Except for the real thing, Hershey's Kisses are the best! I wonder where the security guard was when you were skulking around the parking lot after hours? Love the photos of an obviously happy kid in the candy shop--Anne Marie!

Best,
Bonnie

I saw your header and was in shock I didn't know about the Hershey factory in Virginia - but I guess if you can't tour it it's no wonder I was clueless!

ok, if i ever get to PA this will be on my bucket list. hubby was raised just a few miles from Hershey and NEVER went there. of course he has been here 40 years so way back then people did not go on tours at factories like they do now. i love those lamp post. i have a vision of you driving around sneaking shots at night, don't get caught by the KISS police, OH NO... they might feed you Chocolate!

AH, that is a sweet photo of Ann Marie and Dad enjoying ice cream, those are the memories that last a life time.

I adore those street lights, I would not mind one of those in my yard..... Gives me some sculpting ideas with my clay.

Hope you have a blessed day.

WONDERFUL! This morning I read that chocolate (in moderation) is good for your health. You know what to do if you start getting chocolate on your hands? Eat faster! ☺

Hi Ginny, Wow! I sure do miss Hershey's Chocolate. The sugar free chocolates disagree with my system so they all are out for me! Great pictures! Looks so fun! Love those street lights! Have a super nice day!

I am sorry but I am really going to have to comment quickly to THIS post! I just can't let Beth see it -- she LOVES chocolate! And if she sees it she will take off for PA! Bye....

Hi Ginny, I didn't know they had one in Virginia. I have been to the one in Penn. and we had such a great time. My son was so suprised when after the tour they gave him chocolate. He said " lets go again!" I have to admit though after a day of smelling and yes eating lots of chocolate I went without eating the stuff for a long long time! Great pictures! Your Grand daughter looks like she is having a great time!

I think I like the street lamps in the parking lot the best of all. It looked like it was fun day at the chocolate factory.

It's too bad the chocolate factory near you doesn't give tours, but I sure do like the lights in the parking lot. It looks as if Anne Marie and her parents had a lot of fun touring the factory in Pennsylvania. I think I would enjoy some of that ice cream myself.

Girl - chocolate is right up my alley - those lights are so cute - but not as cute as your granddaughter - such cool things there.

The Street lights are so fun! Just the thing to catch the eye of chocolate lovers. I can see that Anne Marie was having a wonderful time, but who wouldn't at a chocolate factory....

Great pics

Life is like a box of chocolates! Fun post! My sister and family lived very close to the Hershey, PA factory. When we visited I found it so unusual that all the neighborhood folks were baking chocolate things and there was that wonderful aroma in the air! That's when sis told me about the factory nearby! Sweet memories! Great picture of your darling girl!

Too bad they don't offer you one! I love the street lights and those are good photos too! But at least they got to take the kids tour over in Pa. We don't have the old Hershey but do have (Big Island Chocolates) and you can go in and get lots of samples with coffee (smile). How fun!
