A Celebration

Tonight we went to Phil's office party, the company had reserved a room in a nice restaurant. The first picture is Phil and I, and the next is Phil with his best friend at work, John. They have both worked in the same place for over 42 years, and started at about the same time. No one else had a camera, and no one was taking pictures, so that is why I only took these few. Here are some of the restaurant decorations. It was a nice celebration, and we had fun!

"Hallelujah! Sing to God a brand-new song,
praise him in the company of all who love him.
Let all Israel celebrate their Sovereign Creator,
Zion's children exult in their King.
   Let them praise his name in dance;
strike up the band and make great music!
And why? Because God delights in his people,
festoons plain folk with salvation garlands!"
Psalm 149:1

Hopefully Phil is getting ready to retire after 42 years and then you can spend all your time taking pictures. :) That's a long time to work at one place. There was a lady that retired a month before my wife that had been at the company 61 years when she retired.

I think that is something to be proud of 42 years of working in one place! This is my first time in many years of not going to an office Christmas party as I have recently retired. I worked for the same business for 23 years and enjoyed lots of Christmas parties with my company. Merry Christmas!

And I thought I had worked long with the same company - 25 yrs. Why your Phil and his friend were just youngsters when they started!! God's blessings! So nice that you could take pictures for your memory album!

Wow---Phil has worked there a long time. That is awesome--these days when most people switch jobs constantly (or lose their job)... How much longer is he going to work???? I know that he loves it.

Love the picture of you and Phil and of Phil and his friend. Great Christmas trees and decorations also.
Hugs,
Betsy

In this day, 42 years working with the the same friend at the same company is high reason for celebration. Good for them! Strange that no one else was taking pictures. The company parties I went to before retirement were full of camera going off all night. What a lovely tree. Very nice picture of you and Phil. Glad you have an enjoyable evening.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
