1950's Retro Tree

Welcome to the Christmas kitchen of the 1950's! Please come in and look around. You will notice that the T.V. is turned to "I Love Lucy".  I would love to have you join me, we can have some Bosco and Mallomars while we watch. It is easy to find, just meet me on the corner of 1950 and 1959. After the show, perhaps we can have a rousing game of jacks or pick-up-sticks.

Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?”
For it is not wise to ask such questions.

What a fabulous kitchen and tree. Love all the mid-century stuff. And Bosco!! Haven't thought of that in decades.

I love the 50s style kitchen. I see so many items that I remember from my grandmother's house way back when. I had forgotten all about Bosco.

Greetings!!!

Just popping in this morning to send along my wishes to you and yours...that you have a very happy holiday season.

Will see you again in 2013, when I return to blogging after my hiatus, enjoying the company of my sister from Colorado. I haven't seen her in nearly 10 years. This will be a treat.

Happy Holidays...love Anni

this could be our kitchen, remove the TV we did not have one until mid 60's. also no tree in the kitchen, but our fridge and cabinets and table and ironing board were just like this. have never seen the bosco chocolate either. we had dry cocoa that mother made chocolate with and on rare occasions a can of chocolate syrup which i can't remember the name of. i love that header photo.. takes me back in time.....

1950's huh????? That would have been my teen years!!!! I have such good memories of our Christmas's back then... BUT--we didn't get a TV until about 1960 when I graduated from high school....

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to you and Phil.
Hugs,

My brother and I use to play pick up sticks on the living room floor. What fun photos these are.

I know it's not wise to ask that question - still - (sigh)...

Jacks and Pick-up sticks... Does anyone else miss these things? Surely brought back some good memories for me today. Thanks, Ginny.

Very nice, but the tree looks very expensive compared to the kitchen.

I really like that retro tree, and I always enjoyed 'I Love Lucy'. I must admit, however, that I'm not familiar with Bosco.

A lot of great memories there Ginny - where did you find those pictures? I loved them.

Definitely looks like a step back in time.

What a pleasure it would be to do just that. The old TV shows are so much better than new. I seldom watch TV anymore.

Ginny, I adored this. If I were younger, I would redo my kitchen/dining room in 'old' style stuff. I would want one of the big metal sinks, and I would have the hoosier cabinets...and would want a stove that looks like an old wood cookstove.
