What, Me Worry?

For peace of mind, resign as general manager of the universe.  ~Author Unknown

I sometimes think I was born worrying. It is only recently that I find it is bad to worry about things you cannot change. It seems we are not equipped to worry about the future, only to think about the current minute.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Matthew 6

But I know this much:
Because it really is all

“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”

Considering all that has happened in the past week here in the US your post is perfectly timed Ginny. Thanks for the reminder.

Love your header of Alfred E. Neuman!

how ever did you find all these, they go perfectly 'together' and I love that verse, if only i could DO It when i need to. and had to smile at the quote, because i am one of those that 'controls'the universe. LOL

I love everything about this post Ginny because it's all so TRUE! You're speaking to me, or should I say "He's" speaking to me. My husband constantly tells me "a step at a time" when I start to get overwhelmed with life". He's even made up a little tune to go with the Philippians verse, so we can remember it! Thanks for a wonderful reminder, love your photos!

I know this but it is so hard to practice! Virginia has some of the best license plates in the country!!

Ginny, how can you be the general manager when I am?? Ha ha! I used to think that I would be seen as uncaring if I wasn't worrying. I know better now, but it's still hard to "let go and let God" sometimes.

Great post, Ginny. I try my best to give up worrying --but it rears its old ugly head at times...

My Mama was a worrier --and she worried about everything, mostly things she couldn't do anything about.. I vowed not to be like her, but worrying does get in me at times...

I'll try to STOP the worrying, with God's help.
Hugs,
Betsy

That's one of my favorite scriptures. Thanks for the examples and the terrific licenses you shared.

Yes, yes, yes. It took a long period of struggle and spiritual growth to successfully me to abandon worrywart mode for any length of time. Those verses were instrumental.

Thanks for including the anonymous quote. It made me laugh and will now be a wonderful reminder, a sly little dig when I backslide into attempts to take over the general manager spot!

Have a great week, dear, encouraging, inspiring friend.

That last plate says it all!!!

I used to worry 'bout every little thing too, but have learned to 'go with the flow' and change the things I can and live with the things I can't change.

Glad you enjoyed the bird photos posted this weekend.

I know where you are coming from. I am a fellow worrier. My husband? He never worries about anything.

Difficult Ginny, we worry too much, about lots of things we can not influence enough.

Good finds with the plate's... when I started working on my worry...it felt odd and I felt guilty not worrying...but now I feel a peace and reassurance where worry once was.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
