Slime

What is going on in the kitchen? Let's take a peek...

It's Anne Marie! And she is really concentrating, because she is making SLIME! Slime is kind of like Silly Putty, but softer and prettier.

Among the pre-teens around here, making your own slime is all the rage. The girls even take it to school with them.

Meanwhile, Jazz got ahold of the goofy glasses.

There are many different recipes for slime, all different colors and even clear. But it is NOT slimy! It feels smooth, puffy, and soft.

The yellow one is even edible!

Meanwhile, the little ones decided to make Cootie Bugs. The bugs watched silently while the slime was made.

“Ever since we crawled out of that primordial slime, that's been our unifying cry, "More light."  Sunlight.  Torchlight.  Candlelight.  Neon, incandescent lights… “
 ~Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider

I've seen things about making your own slime. Looks like fun. Making cootie bugs looks like fun too. I remember playing with those at someone's house when I was a kid. We didn't have them ourselves.

slime is new to me, as are the bugs. with no children in our life we don't keep up with the new trends. looks like everyone loves what they do at the grand parents house.

Looks like a lot of fun making colourful slime and Cootie bugs. During my time, I only get to play the plasticine, the modelling clay.

I love it when kids find activities that are not media related and have fun.
