From Love To War

We happened to pass this little V.W. Bug in a field. It was totally fixed up to be a war tank. This kind of shocked me, because I have always thought of these little cars as symbols of love (remember the movie about Herbie, the Love Bug?) and cuteness. I guess you can take anything good and make it bad. Thoughts?

The license plate pretty much says what I thought.

Sometimes I think it should be a rule of war that you have to see somebody up close and get to know him before you can shoot him.

Equally you can always make something bad into something good. Certainly very cleverly transformed

Well it's quite clever but I can't imagine why they would want to do it.

That 'potterism' is perfect. As for the beetle tank I'd have to say it's BEETLE MANIA. NO, I don't care for it. But, still, genius.

when the header popped up, I thought I LOVE IT, I want to DRIVE it... then I saw the details and I really want to drive it. it looks like something created for a Mad Max movie... someone is a gifted artist to create it. I love the tank part. I guess this proves beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Yikes! I think that is kind of cool - I could never ever even imagine something like that - some people are amazing.

I bet it wasn't a woman who did that. Personally, I do not like it.

The license plate says it all.

I would prefer to think of these little cars as love bugs, but somebody sure must have had fun redecorating and repurposing this.

I love that saying at the end. The Bug will always mean love to me.

I think whoever did is genius...sort of like the chopper on my blog that you just commented on. Then read Sandra's comment and kind of like it now. LOL

All in the eye of the beholder I suppose but my first thought was good grief. I think of these cute little VW bugs too with the flower holder on the dash holding the daisy, or the golf ball or Mickey Mouse head that looks like a golf ball sometimes perched on the antenna.

Yes they do look cute, symbols of love I guess cause of the movie. You found a bunch of them

Yes, I remember Herbie, the Love Bug! I enjoyed the movie very much. Just look at how they have transformed the back wheels of the VW. Have a fabulous weekend!
