Southern Porches

Porches are a big deal in the south. Around here, there are all different kinds of decor to see. This one has everything but the kitchen sink. Oh, wait. It DOES have the sink, plus a toilet. No need to ever leave!

I'm not sure about these cushions, but it seems there must be a good reason for them. Any ideas?

Here's a mystery porch, surrounded by sheer drapes. Who knows what kind of mess they were hiding? Maybe better that we could not see it..

This porch is decorated to spend quite some time neighbor watching.

Must be no room on the porch for the fridge..

In our family, we don’t hide crazy…

We put it on the porch and give it a cocktail.

You have found some very interesting porches. The drapes will invite curious people to take a peek! Lol!

Hmmmm, that's a first for me! I've never seen curtains/drapes on a porch before.

I have always wanted a big covered front porch but I don't think I would decorate like any of these. Maybe the one with the cushions is for sliding down the steps on their butt?...lol

We have porches decorated like these around here as well.

I went through the slideshow not once but Three times, I am shocked and amazed and flabbergasted at all this on front porches. I love the green house with the curtains and would love to own that porch. minus what is on it. I think I see a chest freezer in one photo . the biggest shocker of all is the one with all those chairs. OMW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved the post. had no idea their are hoarder porches..

Always enjoy seeing what's around your area Ginny. The only thing I can think about those cushions is maybe they are airing them out or worried someone is going to fall down those steps. Don't really have a good idea though. I do love the idea of a porch (don't have one) and sometimes imagine how I would decorate it. One of our neighbors has one across the street that is very nice and decorates it for every season.

Good one today. The first one looks like a junk yard. Have no idea about the attached pillows. Maybe the 3rd if for sun and mosquitoes? Love, sandie

When I think of a porch,I think, relaxing, but none of these look very relaxing. The owners must have other ideas for them.

Oops! Hit something and my comment disappeared. As recovering packrats, I wish winning the war against STUFF was as instantaneous as that digital disappearing act. We are actually doing better and enjoy both our porches a different times of the day!

Wow, that is porch crazy zone. We have a few that do that in smaller towns but then the city does come knocking on the door when it gets to be overloaded.

Interesting variety of porches. I also wonder what the cushions are out there for.
