And finally, all was still.
When Autumn birds in flocks
Fly southward, back we turn the Clocks,
And so regain a lovely thing—
That missing hour
We lost last Spring.
Fly southward, back we turn the Clocks,
And so regain a lovely thing—
That missing hour
We lost last Spring.

I have only seen a sight like this once. these are amazing photos in that you captures how many there were. it is hard to believe they could fly without hitting each other. I am thinking they were really loud. maybe blackbirds? could you tell what they were, the once I saw this sight it was black birds, big ones.
Wow! This looks like something from Alfred Hitchcock's film "The Birds".
What a awesome sight to see, one i look forward to every year, You have captured some beautiful photos, Ginny,
Have a blessed Sunday

Starlings? I've seen starlings like this before (on Nature/PBS)...never in real time. Amazing...and AMAZING images. You should share this blog link today at my birding blog!
It is absolutely amazing the things you see! Great photos so we can see these things, too!
Like everyone else said...quite an amazing sight.
Great photos too.
We are beginning to see flocks of geese flying in formation across the sky too.
Saw them last night but didn't have my camera.
That was an amazing photo catch.
I have no idea how you were just in the right place at the right time.
When I go out I always think of you and see what I can see - but it is nothing!
Maybe the birds tried to fly south here and realized they would be cooked if they came here. 100 degrees tomorrow.
Love, sandie
THAT IS KINDA SCARY. HAVE SEEN GROUPS BEFORE, BUT NOTHING LIKE THIS.
That sky is stunning☺
WOW. I've seen some big flocks but I don't think anything as big as this.
That must have been quite the sight to watch. Glad you were able to capture a few shots of it.
