Silly Goose

What luck for us to find this Canada goose on her nest!

THIS goose, on the other hand, seem to have built a nest on the roadside. Because look at all the chick feathers underneath her! Looks like the chicks have left the nest, and left their downy baby feathers behind. What do you make of it?

Ths is a different mom, looking after her chicks so well.

A flock of geese leave their lake and take wing, turning to poems in the sky.

Rare moments, right? Over here where I am staying, there are no one rearing goose, only those staying outskirts in the countryside or on farms...

Fabulous shots. That was a lucky find with the goose on the nest.

Awesome!! The one with "feathers" for the best...could her choice of material be insulation? That is what it looks like to me.

I don't know how safe the roadside nest is but it sure looks soft and comfy!

They are fun to watch. We have one or two batches that live next to our grocery parking lot. We all just drive around them as they move from place to place.

Canada Geese will nest anywhere. The fluffy feathers are actually down which i believe they pluck from their own chests. THose eggs are well cared for.

Great shots! The geese are some of my favorite photo captures. But I always have my camera with the wide angle lens or else the momma will attack! I understand her proctive nature for her little ones. So sweet. You asked about my table cloth. Those are place mats from the Dollar Tree and the palm tree vinyl tablecloth is a $5 Walmart covering. :-) I have plates and bowls from a few years ago that match the placemats. Oh the Dollar Tree....

Awww! Fun pics! Although the one does seem a little silly, sitting on feathers on the side of a road. :)

Sweet photos Ginny! That nest is an impressive size but that was a strange place to build it so near the road.

I love seeing all the baby ducks and geese right now. I worry when they are too close to the road though!
