Me & Julia Child

CNN is having a show on Julia Child tonight. I am hoping to watch it. The other day, I was watching this commercial for the show. And I noticed that her kitchen is the same color that we just painted ours! Here is Julia's and here is ours. What a nice surprise.

Here are a few Julia Child quotes that I like.

“Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”

“I was 32 when I started cooking; up until then, I just ate.”

“The only time to eat diet food is while you're waiting for the steak to cook.”

“In France, cooking is a serious art form and a national sport.”

* Note to The Mad One: Yes, it is AQUA!

How neat! I loved her years ago, but it was in black and white so I never knew what color her kitchen was.

I Love Julia Child! Did you see the movie Julie and Julia? I read her autobiography written by her and her nephew, Alex published in 2007. Aqua! My first married 'home' featured turquoise ovens and built ins! Does that count for aqua?

I love your kitchen... and there is nothing wrong from following a great chef, now, is there? My kitchens are always so dull.

You and Julia have something in common! I love seeing your kitchen, Ginny, it's charming. And the aqua color is light and Springy. I chuckled at the steak quote. A very nice post this morning, Ginny, and your side bars are matching the color of your kitchen too, that's creative.

Have a pleasant week.

Oh my, you're right, Ginny, I was just looking up the time period that the show took place, and it was so long ago. But somehow people still relate to it to this day. Maybe it was the characters or maybe there's something appealing about living in a small and charming house like that. And don't ya love the local mercantile? Those are some of my favorite parts, the store scenes. I have a few blog friends who love the show as much as I do. : )

Oh you cannot ever go wrong with aqua (I call it teal) in a kitchen -- or anywhere, in my opinion! Gorgeous happy color. So lovely with your yellow! Julia Child was a national treasure for good reason. xoxo

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
