From my birding drive this evening, up in a very tall and old dead tree.
"Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly.
All your life
You have just been waiting for this moment to arrive."
Sir Paul McCartney
I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...

Great captures of the black birds and great quote.
Wonderful Silhouette of the blackbird.
Love the song quote. Reminds me of another song... take these broken wings and learn to fly again
Great silhouettes Ginny
Those are cool captures - do you go bird picture hunting every night with Phil? COOL!
What unique pictures, Ginny!!!!! I think you should frame one for your home!! ~Andrea xoxo
I always enjoy your changing backgrounds to fit the theme of your current post. This one was particularly fabulous, I think.
These are cool photos of the blackbird, Ginny, and you got one of him chirping away, singing his song. I don't see the blackbird here in the mountains. I loved hearing about your mountain town in the comment you sent this morning. We do live in similar places, don't we?
Have a blessed week, dear friend.

Awesome pictures, Ginny! So soulful. I love blackbirds. It was such a poignant moment in Johnny Depp's movie "Public Enemies" when he (as John Dillinger) was dying and whispered to the detective who had shot him, to tell his lady love, Billie Frechette: "Bye Bye, Blackbird" ... because that was what he called her. It probably didn't happen that way at all, but it was good cinema. Haaahahaha xoxo
These are great photos! Perfect sihouettes!
Lovely! I like their dark silhouettes against the sky, and you always pick the perfect quotes.
Great photos!
The birds sing every morning, they wake me up with their chirping...they love to sit on the trees just opposite my house...
WOW.. great photos!!
Those are nice photos! I like the song too
