A few days ago, we passed by this majestic Great Blue Heron. He never moved when we stopped the car! He was especially tame for a wild bird, and even posed for me!

Wow! How exciting. ❤️
What a beautiful model for your camera.
They are very subdued birds!! Excellent portraits.
Wonderful photos. How nice of him to pose for the photo session :)
he is beautiful and oh so regal looking. I have seen some of these birds tame because the people who live in the house feed them. how exciting to get so close and such a great shot of him
We enjoy seeing heron when we kayak. My husband recently got close to one during one of our kayak outings. They are very big birds. ;-)
Gorgeous - but how do you get this bird - I thought he was a water bird???
He looked very focused! Great photos Ginny!
What a grand bird. These are terrific photos, Ginny. I'm glad he stood still for you, so you could get some good ones. I saw the lovely Stellars Jay yesterday, but didn't have my camera, and he flew away quickly anyways. Have a good October week, Ginny.
