The Marching Band

So, what ARE those big lights in all my sunset photos? It is a high school sports field! As we snap the sky up on the hill, we look down on the field.

During my last sunset post, they were having a special occasion down on the field. Since we were a bit of a distance away, and not in the stands, I have no idea what the celebration was in honor of.

“That awkward moment when you realize the marching band works harder than the football team.”

Kathleen Alcock

“Marching band, sacrificing all respect from your peers so that you get to wear funny hats.”

I wondered if it might be something like that. Those band kids do work hard.

we live a few blocks from a highschool and their marching band works hard, the practice 5 evenings a week. we can hear the drums each night and on Friday night football we hear all the Noise... i always wanted to play drums in a marching band, we were to poor, no money for me to do it...I love marching bands, all of them, i love to watch military bands march, or even just marching soldiers

I like marching bands! You have to be good to play and march at the same time.
Funny quote!

Oh! What memories you brought back to me, my friend! Marching band was the very best part of high school! I get teary-eyed still when I hear a school band play. It takes me back to 1986...Friday nights, dampness in the air, the football field lights on...and all my friends and I having the time of our lives! I played the clarinet for three years and then was a majorette. I loved it! Afterward, my friends came to my house, and my mom made us hot chocolate and toast. Thanks for the memories!
