Just Peachy

As soon as we heard the peach trees at the orchard were in bloom, we went there! Well, many were not blooming, but some were. Here are pics of on the way there.

And we finally arrive.

To let you see what it looks like when they are All in bloom, here are some of my photos from years ago.

Did you know that peach trees and almond trees are so closely related that they are almost the same tree?

"Peaches & almonds are almost the same tree, but produce different fruits. Peaches grow a sweet, fruity flesh around the pit, while almonds grow a thinner flesh around the pit, and it is not sweet."

Training is everything. The peach was once a bitter almond; cauliflower is nothing but cabbage with a college education.

I love all fruit, but not everyone does. these are awesome photos, they are just stunning and no I did not know almonds are related to peaches. I like almonds but love peaches more. thanks for the info and the beautiful blooms. Maybe they are blooming so well because they have their own living manure manufacturing machines under them. ha ha

I am shocked - I did not know peach trees grew up north. I did not know they had beautiful pink flowers on them. I did not know they were related to the almonds. I learned a lot today.

You are just a bit ahead of us on the tree blossoms. Our plum and apple trees are beginning to pop out their flowers. And my grape hyacinths are blooming like crazy!
