Our oldest granddaughter, Ane Marie, left for college last week. Here she is saying goodbye to her kitty.
This is in her dorm. First year students are required to stay in the dorm, and are not allowed their cars! She got about 45,000 steps a day just during orientation!
About five flights of steps just to get to her dorm!

I’m excited for her!
Prayers for her as she leaves her home and family. She is so very smart and beautiful. wow on those steps. How far is she from where you are.. I like the way they have the dorm set up, the bed with storage under it. I know all of you will miss her.
So hard to believe that Ana Marie is now in College. Prayers for her to have a safe, successful year. Hopefully she isn't that far away and will be able to come home often. Her dorm room is so cute and so is she.
Best of luck to her! What will she be studying?
Many good wishes for her, I know she will do well. And be in great shape with all those steps.
Hooray for Ann Marie! That's a lot of walking. I know she'll do great!
I wish Ann Marie good success in college.
I like the steps saying a lot. Did you cry? How far away is she? I was so thrilled for my kids - but I knew it was the beginning of the end of an era. I am such a baby.
Anne Marie's off to college! Have never heard of that rule of staying within the dorms and not allowed their cars. Her dorm looks nice, and it looks like she has all the things around her close to her heart. She will miss her kitty. Love that picture of her walking the steps on campus, Ginny. I hope she has a good year of learning, making new friends, and good teachers!

New beginnings and there is a whole story in that walk up the stair path.. Way to go.

Good luck to your granddaughter on her first year of college and the first days especially. I too must have missed where she is attending college and her planned major, but then it could always change.
An exciting time for your granddaughter.
Wow, that's a lot of steps.
Hope she has s super terrific year.
Look at Anne Marie, at college! That is so great. I love what she did with her dorm room! Interesting that they have to walk everywhere; that's good. She'll learn a lot from that, and get some exercise, and explore and discover. I hope and pray that she has a productive, rewarding freshman year! xoox
i remember sending our boys off to college, it is such an exciting time...it was before they had watches that counted your steps but i'll bet we did that many!! her room looks adorable, she is a very pretty girl!!
How exciting! Such sweet photos, especially the one with her kitty. She's going to get some great exercise!
How exciting for her. That's a good way to get exercise for sure. Feel sad for her kitty but they adjust.
That is a lot of steps! I bet she does well in college!
