The Carnival

Earlier this summer, we took the girls to the local Carnival. Well, we took the two youngest. Anne Marie is old enough now that she drove her own car there and met us. I loved this handsome Dragon that met us.

The girls were pretty excited.

But it was the last night of the carnival, and all the lines were dreadfully long! So they only had time to go on two rides and play one game. Next time, I'll know better and pick a different night.

The only deserted stand was this lemonade one. No one was buying. I thought the lemon shaped stand was so cute!!

On the other hand, the slushies, funnel cakes and donuts had dozens in line.

Even the dogs were exhausted from standing in long lines.

The first ride they chose was this giant ferris wheel.

You had to sit in a locked-up cage! One of the girls loved it, and the other one was so scared that she almost threw up. So maybe it was a good thing after all that the lines were too long to buy funnel cakes.

Apart from the Ferris wheel I hope all your granddaughters had a great time. Carnivals can be fun but long lines not so much. You and Phil were really sweet to take them and your photos are a lot of fun. So nice to see the girls. They are beautiful young ladies.

Do those cages on the ferris wheel spin too? It reminds me of a ride I was on a long time ago and I did end up getting sick. I didn't like the spinning.

the only thing I would ride would be the horses on a merry go round and these days that might make me sick. ha ha... they look so happy, glad you got to go with them... bright and colorful and fun

What a fun thing to do with your granddaughters. Too bad about the long lines though.

Those cages spin every way - when I was younger, I might have been able to do it - now they would make me sick - if I survived without a heart attack!

I always enjoyed the carnival rides at the county fair when I was growing up.

I would be nervous on the ferris wheel too! Too bad about the long lines, but I’m glad you had a chance to see the girls.

I could copy Sandra ... I was never any good with any kind of ride going round, or up and down, or high... Prefer solid ground under my feet!

What a wonderful way to end the Summer. Fairs and Carnivals are such fun traditions. I used to love all the rides but now not so much. Looks like the girls enjoyed themselves.
Poor lemonade stand..very cute.

What a perfect way to end the summer, my friend! They look like they are having a wonderful time. I would have been in line at the lemonade stand all night! That is my favorite. Have a cozy evening, my friend.

I am glad you all had the opportunity to go to the carnival. I love to ride ferris wheels..Sam on the other hand, does not. And just the mention of funnel cakes makes my mouth water..I know the girls had a great time and I'm sure you and Phil did too...it is always fun to do things with grandkids.

Looks like a fun time. The carnival here is right along side with the county fair. We didn't go this year,

Oh, the Carnival is always a fun time, Ginny. So glad the girls had a great time. Haven't rode the ferris wheel in forever. Last time I did, it was a bit scary for me, when the cages turned this way and that while being in mid air. The lemon stand is delightful. I'm surprised more people didn't go to that one. A cute photo of the girls. This was a nice summer outing for them to remember before school starts.

Ugh you have reminded me of how much I loathe all such attractions, hahaaa! About once every five years we forget how long the lines are and how expensive the food is, and go as a family to the South Carolina State Fair. In order to do just about anything, you're going to be out two or three hundred dollars! It's insane. Last time -- two years ago come October -- I said "Never. Again." Hahahaha we shall see. xoxo

I would love to have a funnel cake...it has been ages and ages since I had one.

Fair or Carnivals can be fun. I like the Ferris Wheel but not the cage one.

It's 4 0"Clock Somewhere

We have a lot of these Four 0"Clock bushes in the back and side of our house. They got their name because they do not open till around...
