A couple weeks ago, our local cemetery was looking so splendid in fall colors. We drove in to take closer looks.
The fence around a
cemetery is foolish, for those inside can't come out and those outside don't
want to get in.

The trees have a beautiful color dress. It's the pleasure of watching it.
Thank you very much and best regards from Viola
So beautiful. In the past I have visited Lowell Cemetery in Massachusetts. It was established in 1840 as a garden cemetery where people could sit in a beautiful setting and enjoy nature.
I love that cemetery - looks so peaceful and gorgeous with those trees.
Love the old cemeteries graced by the gorgeous fall colors.
Perfect quote today.

So pretty. Such a spectacular display of autumn color.
I just had to come back to say that I used a cookie cutter for the dragonfly. I couldn't make one from scratch either.
Sure is pretty. I enjoy a walk around a cemetery now and then. :)
I so love all that color!!! It is beautiful.
Ginny, one of the prettiest trees in our town is at the cemetery. Its golden leaves shine when the sun comes out, and it's a glorious tree. Your cemetery is filled with so many wonderful Autumn trees. These photos are great, and I've always thought that the cemetery was a peaceful place to visit our loved ones. The quote you shared made me think about the site of a dear friend. Her mom would visit daily and bring precious things to put on her daughter's site. Turns out, many of those items were stolen from time to time. It was hard to believe that people who steal things at a grave site.

I love the quote at the end and have often said the same thing: what is the fence for? To keep folks out or in? Hahaha ... TG and I were once locked inside a cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina, as night was approaching. We were deep into the grounds and didn't notice the closing time of 5 pm (it was in January). We had to call 911! But they notified the groundskeeper and he was nearby and sprung us out. I love cemeteries but even I don't want to be in one at night, hahaha! And is there anyplace that fall is more poignant than in a cemetery? I think not. The metaphor is almost too good to be true. xoxo
What gorgeous trees in that cemetery. It would be a lovely place to walk around and enjoy the fall colors.
