Recently, Phil and I had the pleasure of spending the day with our four year old granddaughter, Anne Marie. Her parents were judges at a chili contest and needed someone to watch her. We had a special day filled with many fun things, which I will be posting every so often. I was sitting on the couch and looked up, and this is what I saw. Anne had gotten into the candy corn with with the encouragement of Phil, and he was showing her how to make fangs with it! You can see how delighted she is by it in the first picture, before trying it herself. When we have children here, I keep my camera within arms reach at all times, and it certainly paid off here! Having candy corn at grandma and grandpa's is actually very healthful. It is candy CORN, so I consider it a vegetable. And you know that children must eat their vegetables!

That is cute! Yes, you have to eat our vegetables...especially on Halloween LOL
hey Ginny..wonder how that taste like.. candy corn.. hahaha.. yes, a good way to get kids to eat vegetables is thru candies i guess!
vegetables is very important for the growth of young children...
I do remember those fangs - sure don't care for that sweet stuff now as an adult. Isn't it fun to have the grandkids around!
What an adorable expression! It makes me miss Nyssa even more. About the doll. It is my daughter's doll. My Twinn are made to look just like the little girl and when she was little she had long blond curls and blue-green eyes. She left the doll here for the time being.
Hilarious- yes, I can see the delighted look on her face! I make a habit of keeping my camera with me too..yet my phone has been known to do the trick in a pinch!
Well, maybe I'll just have to make those short bread cookies tomorrow!! (smile)
Hope you have an enjoyable day tomorrow..seems like this week just shot by!
Your comment on my Hands chair makes me think of the " He's got the whole world in his hands."
Your son and daughter in law, do they eat lots of hot food?
So I guess one rule NOT applied in your home must be "don't play with the food"... LOL
Those are great expressions, both Anne Marie and Phil. If I had looked up and saw them I'm not sure if I could have stopped laughing long enough to take photos.
And yes, this time of the year candy corn does count as a vegetable. But does that mean gummy worms are protein?
She is so darling. What a fun photo with her grandpa. May God bless you today Ginny.
Too cute! I remember popping candy corn on my teeth as well!

Such a cute picture!
I think candy corn is pretty used as a decoration, but I've never liked the taste of it.
Hope you have a great weekend. :)
I've had candy corn since--well-- since I had teeth but I never knew how to make the tooth fangs. Guess I just needed a great teacher like Grandpa Phil. What other tricks does he know? = )
Best,
Bonnie
I'll bet they really had to twist your arm to get you to watch her. :)
She sure is a cutie.
LOVE the title and it is really true. she will look at these photos when she is a young lady and remember all the fun she had with her grandparents. you are so right about having the camera sitting handy, grab those shots, she is growing up fast.
Lovely photos, Ginny! One that'll surely bring a wide smile every time you look at it. Your grand daughter is so adorable!!
I've been busy this week. Too many things to handle at home and I'm also working towards a decent winter garden:-) Very little space so I'm using a lot of containers as well. The week just flew and this morning I realized Bloooming Friday's here!!!
Thanks for your visits....I treasure them! Have a lovely weekend!
They both look pretty pleased with their trick fangs!
Great looking Sponge Bob Square Pants candy corn teeth and when Phil is finished playing he can eat them! :-)
Very cute! Isn't it fun to make memories!
Darling. I love candy corn, and I love Halloween. And it is indeed fun with a four year old. I can hardly wait.
Leaving in the a.m. sometime, stopping in Georgia and North Carolina, so I won't be there until Monday.
Adorable photos! Aren't grandchildren such wonderful blessings?
I used to love candy corn when I was a child but it's too sweet for me now. Chocolate is now my favorite treat! :)
So cute!! What a beautiful granddaughter! Another healthy food for kids is no-bake cookies. They're loaded with Oatmeal and we know that's good for us!! Have a wonderful weekend. Blessings, bobbi & gracie.
What a wonderful grandma you are -- candy corn is a vegetable!! These are cute pictures.
What fun!!! Those are truly the 'makin' memories times. One can never get too many veggies.
I just wanted to let you know I've been missing in action the last few weeks. I went to Tx. to spend time with my Daddy who passed last Wed. He had almost a three decade fight with leukemia.
Ya'll have a magnificently blessed weekend!!!
Awww so cute .. i totally love the pics !!!
Aww, Ginny. This is just so darn cute. I look forward to the day when I can snap picture of Don doing goofy things with grandbabies. Phil is a peach, I mean a corn nut, I mean a NUT, oop!, I mean sweet as CANDY corn. LOL
