Lost

The path in my first picture is bordered by cornfields, but where does it take us? To this huge field. Phil loves to fly remote controlled planes, and he does it in this field. You can see what a huge open space it is, and in the third picture you can see the cornfield around it. No matter how far away he starts, the plane always heads for the cornfields, as you can see it doing here. And when it lands (or should I say crashes?) it is also in the cornfield. The corn is like a magnet to the plane. The fields are huge, so how does he find it? He turns the engine on with his remote control and then drives along the edge of the corn rows listening for it. Here you see him heading into the corn, then returning with the plane after a succesful hunt. It seems like he is spending more and more time searching. Surely, many things of the world try to pull us away from God just as these cornfields pull that little plane. But the seeker is always there, for the whole purpose of his life was to seek and save us. Then, with him as our pilot, we know our landing will be a very soft one, indeed.

"For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost." Luke 19:10

A beautiful analogy Ginny. Looks like a beautiful Autumn day for Phil to fly his plane. Keeping you in my prayers.

I can't believe these images- now this is unreal! What a spot- and the vivid Autumn colors!! If one had a choice to get lost? He's looks like he's enjoying himself! Well I think these are really special captures Ginny, and ya- the analogy!

The path along the cornfield is so pretty, it is definitely autumn in your area. That is a really big field, interesting how the plane wants to head for the cornfield. Maybe it just likes to play hide and seek.

For a minute there, when I saw Phil stepping into the cornfield, I thought he was lost! That happens in cornfields around here! I'll be looking for the plane buzzing around the valley when I get there!!

Best,
Bonnie

I'm so glad to know this! I was lost - but now I'm found. You asked about our Church - Our denomination is Church of God with Headquarters in Cleveland, TN. It's a classical pentecostal church with roots in the holiness tradition.

Amazing grace that keeps looking for the lost until they are found! Praise the Lord for that! Interesting that Phil's plane has such an attraction for the cornfields when there's all these beautiful open fields to be had! And then it can't get out of the mess until the 'master' comes! Great post and pics!!

Your words as well as your photos set me to thinking this morning, Ginny. A visit here is always a great way to start the day. You asked about the sauce. It had not yet been made and even it had it is not the kind of sauce that would have improved the appearance of my woeful looking Dolmas. I hope all is well and you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary

When I saw the title I thought of how you are always telling us how you get lost on the road. The world as a whole is lost and filled with lost people. I was lost, then found and now I'm lost again... lost in the depths of God's love! And I can't think of a better place to be!

Hi Ginny, The Scripture verse says it all!

Have a super nice day today!

When I saw Phil out in the wide open field, I was wondering where the kite was. That sky really needed a kite (though the season for kite breezes was totally wrong). Seeing the remote control plane was a total surprise and delight for me. I looked again after reading the post and found the tiny dot of a plane in the sky. Clever of Phil to find the crashed plane via sound. I'm sure the local insects of the field must get very surprised by this buzz making monster in their midst.

Wonderful post, Ginny... I'm in the car on the way home from the Smokies (wonderful trip) --and I had to read this outloud to George. We both laughed and laughed...

Glad Phil can find the plane once it goes into the cornfield.... What great pictures!!!!!

I guess the cornfield is God calling us to follow him... Tell Phil that his airplane needs to pray more and know that God loves it ---so that it doesn't always have to crash in the cornfield.... ha ha

Great post.
Hugs,
Betsy

Great post. Just goes to prove that the only difference between a man and a boy is the price of his toys. :)

Poor Phil! I had the same problem with golf balls and sand and water when I played golf many years ago. Perhaps things will go a little better for Phil once the corn is harvested. These are wonderful pictures.

That was a FANTASTIC analogy Ginny. I knew exactly what you were saying - no matter how we are steered - we have to drive ourselves back to the Lord.

Would you believe my hubby flys remote control planes?
