God Rest Ye

God rest ye merry bloggers all
Let nothing you dismay.
Because I went to K-Mart
And the grocery store today.
And even though it was pitch dark
I got these pictures, hey!
Oh tidings of blogging and joy
Blogging and joy
Oh tidings of blogging and joy!!

(to be sung to the tune of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen")

Well, dear friends, I had to go shopping tonight, and I was bummed. The clocks were set back this weekend, and I don't like going out in the dark. No picture opportunities, hard to see and to walk. But we happened to pass by the local Garden Center. And even though it was closed, they had just decorated their windows for Christmas! So we pulled into the parking lot and I took these pictures full of the first light of Christmas just for you! The last picture is looking out the car's rear view mirror as we were leaving, one last look from behind.

"The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." John 1:5

Lol), well Merry christmas Ginny! Hey, that was a clever re-mix! I'm getting ready for thanksgiving but I have a great recipe for candy cane bread (ha ha)..
Your header is cheery- drop me a line:)

Oh my goodness! Is it that time already, LOL!
Merry Christmas Ginny.

The lights are really pretty but it is so hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. At least all the lights keep things from being so gloomy in the winter darkness.

My daughter and I wrapped Christmas presents last night while we listened to Christmas music. We had a lot of fun!♥

I'm singing! There's a garden center near you that I love. I think the name is Milmont (or close). They have wonderful flowers and plants and very nice people. My sister likes shopping there. I wonder if they decorate for Christmas too?

And, you must keep your car windows REALLY clean--no spots spoiling the photo!!

Best,
Bonnie

Beautiful pictures...and you are so clever to make up those words like that! But, best of all, Christmas is coming. I think I may get some lights outdoors today. It's nice and warm.
I won't do to much decorating indoors until right before Advent.
But, it's killing me to wait!

They've started a bit at my supermarket now too but not yet the full display with decorated trees and all... But guess what? It's snowing here today (again). So maybe I could just as well start decorating...

I like your new version of the song, and I also like your pictures. We haven't seen any lighted decorations yet, but the stores are putting them up.

We had at least one store with Christmas merchandise right beside the Hallowe'en costumes. The music started the minute the trick or treating stopped. Really takes the specialness away to hear the music 24/7 for two months!

Your version is cute.

Love, love the song lyrics, Ginny! Seems like we just skip Thanksgiving in the commercial world and go straight to Christmas.

Great photos!

Those are great pictures and I agree with you... I don't like the time change and it being dark so early.

Great photos! And I had a fun time singing (silently, that is) your version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. Had to clue hubby in when I laughed out loud. Hubby and i also start the Christmas music early. Fortunately, we both are of the same mind on that issue!

I agree with Bonnie. Awesomely clean car windows. Glad you are up and going, even in the dark!

as i scrolled through your photos i kept thinking where did she find these, are they new or from last year? they are amazing and what a great place to grab a little cheer for us to sing along with. I never go out after dark at night, i am out at 5;30 am but we have not seen anything like this. i might have to look around. i am thinking of putting out my little tree now. i am late today, had decided to not comment at all, then thought i have to and i am.

Great shots of the first sights of Christmas!
All the decorations for Christmas were up in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and some were even already lite! Did we already have Thanksgiving????? Did I miss it???
Have a fabulous day!

Oh wow! I cannot believe how much decorations there are when we are still far from Christmas. I do like them though ;-) I liked your little poem too.

There is nothing like Christmas lights - is there?

And I agree with you - this time change - why can't we leave time alone?

I always feel that Thanksgiving gets so overlooked because Christmas comes tumbling in on the heals of Halloween. I'm going to continue to keep throughs of Christmas at bay for a while longer and especially enjoy Thanksgiving this year because Krista's birthday lands on that Thursday this time around. She was born on the 25th so every once in a while, her birthday actually lands on Thanksgiving.

I haven't gone to my mall to see if they have put up the Christmas decor.

My quilt looks nice in the picture, but just don't look closely. My grandma scolds me, Fast hand and fast leg. I had to finish it fast otherwise, once I put it down, I will never tak it up again.

My friend Ravi gets commissioned to make hers. She charges $6000 each. People buy it also for the Brand Datin Khoo. If Datin is not equal to Dame , it is pretty high up in the Malaysian Social status.

I got to know her because we were neighbours. Her husband was on Sabbathical and came to work in the same university my husband was working.

For such a woman of high status, she was very friendly.
