The Sky In One Day

I took all of these pictures on one afternoon and evening a few days ago. We were driving along, and I noticed the sun was setting. So we found a good place to stop and just watch the sky for awhile. Stops like this always make me late for things, but I am so much more enriched and uplifted.

"For a thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night." Psalm 90:4

P.S. I got so many questions about my wedding cake that I decided to answer them here. Thanks for your interest! The rum was in the cake, none was in the frosting. We didn't know till we smelled and tasted it at the reception. It was very strong, but we quickly decided to say nothing, and that decision worked well. The speciality of the bakery was a rum wedding cake. But when I went there to order it, I stressed NO rum, and watched them write it on the order. My guess is that the baker looked at the order, and all he saw was the word rum. I never complained to the bakery or asked for my money back. I was very young, and just glad that we had escaped a bad incident with no one the wiser!

Beautiful sky pictures, Ginny.... Reminds me of the ones we saw on Sat. night... We saw the sun while going to town ---and then the moon when returning home after dark.... Awesome, isn't it???

Wow Ginny, it was worth being late to get those gorgeous sky views.

Glad you explained about the cake, I thought maybe the baker spilled his bottle of rum in the cake batter....LOL!

breathtaking photos, stunning! i thought it was sunrise until I read your post. when it is sinking below the horizon it looks like the woods are on fire. these are awesome shots Ginny. I love them. God places so much beauty out there for us to view and so many people never see it. they drive into it and don't even notice.

I'm so glad you stopped and waited while the sun moved through the clouds. What rich colors.
The baker probably couldn't believe that anyone would want one of his cakes without rum!

Hi Ginny,

Your sky photos manifest the Glory of God.

I bet no one complained about the rum in your wedding cake.

Re: school
My pirate school is enrolling, LOL

Hi Doreen, Ginny, Sarawakiana,

I did this last year, and some of the books went home after I had my ESOL program verified. I will check if some of the books are still in my room. Then I could take some photos.

I should see about Anansi the Spider too.

Kids love coming to my program. It gives a change from the classroom, for instance, we had four handsome Firemen come to speak to some classes. I got news of it, and I joined in to see my handsome men in blue, on the pretest my kids would benefit, though they were not officially scheduled to attend. I went twice, ogling the men, my colleagues said I only took my kids because I wanted to see and talk tothe firemen.

Fire Fire Fire,
Get Down,
Get Low,
Get out
Dail 111 or 999.

Go over to my photo post, I will do the Firemen song next week. LOL, you will see how handsome my new boyfriends are.

Dear Ginny,
You may not know this. You are an angel that God had sent via the internet to encourage me.

Do you remember my Tunnel photo and story about the hospital.

You inspired me.

You are the second in blog land I am sharing this, because you have always been special to be because your comments are so touching.

I have just finished the first draft of my book, it is my testimony of my life. Please pray that it will get published.

Such a beautiful sun and moon! The days seems to pass so quickly, don't they? It is good to enjoy each one and give praise!

I hope you and your family have a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving, Ginny! I do all the cooking each year. Nothing fancy, as everyone likes the standards. We have lots of leftovers but my Mom takes a lot home to reheat all week. :)

Just caught up on your wedding cake story. I am sitting in a crowded coffee shop trying desperately to control my laughter and to corral the tears that threaten to run down my face. Great story; excellent storyteller!
