Blue

Excuse me for posting so many photos today, but since I am so blue, I just couldn't decide which to leave out. So I put them all in. The bible doesn't seem to use the word depression, instead it uses downcast. It even suggests there are benefits to being sad, which I would not disagree with. After all, how can we know how to empathize with and comfort others if we have not needed it ourselves at some point? So as these pictures and Ecclesiastes testify, being blue can be a good thing.

"Crying is better than laughing. It blotches the face but it scours the heart. Sages invest themselves in hurt and grieving. Fools waste their lives in fun and games." Ecc. 7:3,4

Howdy Ginny
God Bless you for all the photos !
I was tossing and turning and wondering what to think as Winter is still with us .
While it may be normal to have a long winter in some places ,usually Central Texas is given a free pass .
Unless you count the odd years where it snowed on Valentines Day and than again once for a whole Easter weekend, and then there was the year it snowed in May .
Well maybe I just thought
we got a free pass :)
Today was my first visit
to your blog but
I'll be back again .
Thank you so much for making me feel so much better !
Until next time
Happy Trails

When I saw your post come up on my dashboard it only showed the first sentence of your post. You had me worried to hear you were "blue".

After seeing all of your great photos I am blue too and there is a big smile on my face.

Beautiful photos, Ginny! These blues don't get me down!;) And the verse is truly wonderful!

About your comment on my cactus photo, I've answered on my blog. Thank you for mentioning the shadows in between. I was so into the red blooms that I failed to see the shadows. After reading your comment, I found myself thinking...if I had noticed that before I could have used it for the meme "Shadow Shots"!!

I don't think blue should be associated with depression. It's such a great color that covers so many moods. Blue always makes me happy...thanks for all that happiness today.
Hope that your blue mood evaporates looking at all your cheerful photos.

Well I actually posted yesterday sort of early as I don't have one up every day..so if you come by it might put a grin (not a smile) on your face..You know I had to endure manic depression-that's one thing that changed because of the way I happened to of been thinking (patterns) when I came to Christ.. now that is different, I get what you have every now an then (could be physical)? But it isn't any fun! Well hey, I really liked what you said at the end..and that verse as well- isn't that the truth! I know you know..so I won't try to tell you something smarmy.. but it almost has to get worked out or something..like a splinter? I'm sorry and your in my prayers my friend! The fourth photo ..not sure what that is (water)..I'll go back and check (hugs)

Regina said...

Well I can see..neat night shot and a series for your blue theme. That header is wild!
You know..so many things -weather or whatever can contribute or trigger this kind of thing? I just want to say how much I (your of course) appreciated here! You've never been judgemental- though you have your opinions..yet always faithful..
consistant, humorous and original! I'd give you an award but it would be inconsistnat on my part (ha ha)..so I'll have something better. Again..your in my prayers:)

I am so sorry that you are blue, but don't get down on yourself my friend. It is okay to have some days of depression as long as they don't stay in depression.

How would we know joy if we didn't know sorry. It is the opposite side of the same coin.

Love and hugs,sandie

We get blue here too....love all the pics....now I am not blue any more....smiling here!

Hope your blues collection helped with your emotional blues. I notice from your words and verse that you are "giving thanks in all things." Way to go, Ginny.

that's a great selection of blue pictures. I used to spend a lot of time being blue until one day I just made up my mind to be happy. The best part is since I knew what it was like to be sad it made me appreciate happiness all that much more :)
Hope you're back in the pink again soon

Ginny,
YES, I am glad I startee blogging because I have met so wonderful people like you!!!
I am sorry you are feeling blue, but sometimes it is necessary so we are forced to reflect upon our blessings...listen to your heart and honor what it is saying!
I like the chair with the snow pile on it...no thank you; I don't think I'll be sitting long!

D said...

Ginny, you have offered us some lovely photos that you've taken. I especially love the first one (the print/painting), and the chair in the snow draws me in.

If we were laughing all the time, could we really enjoy it without a little down time?

Glenda said...

My fav pic is the old blue chair in the snow . . . great!!

I thought of the Scripture that says that God comforts us so that we can comfort others.

After all those neat blues you should be feeling better. I have a hard time finding one blue and here you have enough to last me a long time. Staying busy sometimes helps to settle one down.

I left a little something for you..The photo is for your page. I wanted to leave you an iris but couldn't for the life of me make up my mind! Good grief! I wanted it to be something you hadn't seen but thought - who cares (ha ha)..that iris would probably stand out on your column better (it's one I cropped and you said you liked)..with raindrops. Besides, it makes me think of you! Let me know (hug and squeeze) ha ha

Blue days need a little sun... the vitamin D and the light boosts the spirit... and always seems to make the sky that remarkable shade of blue.

Here today it feels like a spring day... like a thunderstorm or tornado should pop up at any minute... not a February groundhog day. Last year on this day we had just had 10 inches of snow.
