Snow Day!

Today we picked Ella up from school at lunchtime. My header is the mitten decorations on the windows that the little kids had made. I promised her that as soon as we all had lunch she could make a snowman and play in the snow. And did she ever!! She is showing you how much fun it is outside and beckoning for you to join her. The snowman came out pretty good, considering we could only find a paper bowl for the hat and tomatoes and rocks for the face! For some reason, she insisted on naming him Harold! After that, her hat came down over her eyes, and yet she made snow angels, had a snowball fight, and ran around like it was nothing. I don't know how she could see!! Every so often, she would stop and eat some snow, and I would yell at her to STOP! So I got some clean snow and made snow cream when she came in, yum! Her rosy red cheeks were a joy to behold. Not so for Harold, who was melting fast. RIP, Harold.

"The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of all the earth. The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory." Psalm 97:5,6

Harold looks as happy in Ella's company as she in his, even though his life is not likely to last very long...

Harold is quite the unique character and Ella looks as if she had a ball! Isn't it fun for little ones to help us feel like children again?

These are wonderful pictures of Ella enjoying the snow. Ah, the joy of being young. We haven't seen many snowmen down here -- it was too cold to pack while we had snow, and now the snow is gone. But I'm sure we'll be getting more.

Fun in the snow - so easy for little ones. Or kids at heart! That snowman is priceless - all the better for being non-traditional. And Harold is a perfectly non-traditional name for a snowman, too!

What a joy to watch little ones who are always 'in the moment'. Enjoying life to the fullness, not worrying about the past or future. What a blessing to be thankful for this day, this moment!!!!

Ella is a little "snow" angel herself - she's simply adorable...and the snowman turned out really fun - Harold is perfect!

What is snow cream?

The pictures of little Ella playing in the snow are adorable! I have a mental picture of her rosy red cheeks, laughter and bright smile as she came inside and started with the snow cream!

That is one happy little girl. It makes me feel good to watch her play. You asked what the difference between dulce de lech and caramel is. Caramel is made from sugar syrup. Dulce de leche is made from a mixture of milk and sugar that is cooked until it forms a sauce. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary

She looks like she is having so much fun. I remember a time (long long ago) when I could stay out in the snow for hours and never seemed to feel the cold. Now I can't stand just running from the front door to the car...lol

It looks like she was having a blast.I guess snowmen don't have as long a life in your area as they do here.
