The other day, I showed you blooming Magnolia trees. And now I want to show you another kind of Magnolia tree, the Tulip, or Saucer Magnolia. It is called tulip because that is what the blooms look like, and they are also as big as saucers. And this magnolia is not only white, either! The flowers can be pink or purple, though all the ones around here seem to be pink. They are a real sight to behold, they look like a tree full of tulips! The tree also grows in the form of a symmetrical crown!! I wish I would have thought to snap a tree from a distance to show you.
- “He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you're always young in his presence.”
- Psalm 103

Beautiful tree, Ginny. I need to go to an arboretum to enjoy such trees as this.
As big as saucers? WOW! The scent must be amazing. The detail of your close-ups always takes my breath away!!!
Blessings, Joanne

Hi Ginny, I think these are so very beautiful! I have not seen these in person. The only ones we had in my neighborhood in Los Angeles many years ago were white. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!
Gorgeous photos, Ginny! This tree is so beautiful, does it have a good scent?
What beautiful blooms. I remember when I lived in the south a neighbor had a magnolia tree with enormous blooms, it must have been the Tulip magnolia. I do wish magnolia blooms would stay around a little longer.
I love magnolia and this one is amazing, your pics are so gorgeous! thanks for sharing...+happy week!
Simply stunning Ginny. I've seen these only in photos, so I'm sure they're breathtaking in real time.
I'm on my bird photo blog right now, and I wanted to answer your question you left in that comment section ---yes, the American Avocet has a 'curved beak'. If you think that is odd, wait 'til I post another waterbird photo. There are some 'odd' ones you'd find. LOL
I've always wanted one of those tulip trees - they are so beautiful.
Ginny, these are stunning photos of such lovely flowers! These are truly incredible trees - a feast for the eyes!
I WANT ONE! I saw a magnolia on the grounds of Lincoln's Cottage in DC and it was just so huge and so beautiful with the blossoms.
Oh, my, they are gorgeous!
Wow....really beautiful!
these are amazing to me, i have never seen one in real life or even a picture of one. i like that last shot, it would be pretty framed and hanging. God's Art can not be beat for sure. i would love to see the whole tree.
Beautiful flowers. I would love to see a tree like this in full bloom.
I've never seen a tulip this full bloom. Nicely captured!
I've never seen one of those before. How pretty. They do look like tulips too.
Very beautiful Ginny!
Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful...and per your questions about those things happening to me the answer is Yes....we had a Red Chow dog and he crossed the line and was shot and killed by the neighbor....
You got some wonderful pictures of the tulip magnolia blossoms. They are amazing t see in person.
I had a tulip magnolia tree - and my husband didn't like it and can you believe he tool that it down? My mom had given it to me - so you know how many 'discussions' we had about that.
Love, sandie
