Barn Graveyard

We happened to pass these mama and baby barns. Not only that, but they seem to have their own graveyard. Maybe for cows and sheep, who knows?

I love barns of any kind. They make good subjects for photos. How interesting that there is a graveyard right there. I wonder if it is for farm animals.

I'm guessing those graves are for people who used to live there. Around here,I see the occasional small graveyard right beside the ditch.I think in years past, people were just buried wherever there was a spot.Makes for good pictures anyway.

What a lovely find. So pretty these barns and the family graveyard I’m guessing?

Lovely old barns Ginny. I am just about to go to Australia for 6 weeks but have all my post scheduled in (bit of a marathon that was!) Unfortunately I will not be commenting while I am away but as often as I can will look at bloggers posts.

Beautiful scenery with old barns! I agree, maybe the graveyard for their animals.

I love this setting...I am wondering if this was where family members were buried long ago. Looks like too nice headstones for animals.

it is a people cemetery, I zoomed in and there are two family names on the center tombstone, with a list of names. Tamlar and Mechlin I think are the names.. odd to have their own, but in some states it is legal. beautiful barns

I love old barns, I can only imagine how majestic they were in their day, and of the stories they could tell.
Thank you for sharing.

Interesting. Maybe these are graves of their ancestors.

I wonder if they can really plant bodies on that kind of land - would be interesting to find out.

It seems unusual that they would go ahead and build farm buildings around it. My late father-in-law pointed out to the city that they were paving over a previous orchard that had two teenage boys buried there. I guess it was better a parking lot than building into it.

There is so much 'scope for the imagination' in these photos! Thank you for sharing.

There is also an old barn in my sister's house, I have not been inside cos it is very old and worn out. They are planning to tear it down before it comes tumbling down one day... used to be a ranch those early years so I guess the barn was for the horses and cows... :)

Old barns are one of my favorite things.
Interesting to see the "family plot" right there in the barnyard.

Interesting farm buildings. I have seen a number of small graveyards when going though rural areas in our state. But I have never seen any so close to farm buildings or houses.
